Latching On

Chapter 12

Taylor's POV

" It's nothing." Nash shrugged, but his face full of guilt. I knew it was fake. But, why would Nash punched Matt? I better not ask now.

" So, can we go see Elena?" I asked Cameron. He turned to me and nodded slowly. I followed him to Elena's room. Then I saw her, she was lying down on the hospital bed, her skin was pale and her body had no movement in it. I tried to hold back the tears but let out a small sob. I made my way to her bed and sat next to her.

" You're going to be alright." I whispered near her ear. I put my hand on hers, she was freezing.
I turned to look at Cameron who was on the phone. Soon the door flew open, I saw everyone else come in. Soon enough, everyone started tearing up. Even though we've only known her for two weeks, it felt like more, always more. She was like my bestfriend. She was an amazing person and no one could stop that.

Cameron's POV

1 month.
1 month has past.
1 month has past and still nothing.
Nothing from Elena.
Bart has stopped Magcon for a while, until Elena was feeling better.
Everyone has been visiting her all the time. Right now, I was sitting next to Carter in Elena's room. Everyone was here amd everyone was trying to keep their spirits up, for Elena. I'm sure she would have wanted to continue Magcon without her but we weren't going to do that. Not without her. The doctors said that she would be awake soon, that made us cheer a little. So, everyday we would always hope that she would be awake.
I looked up from my phone to see Nash waking up, he decided that he wanted to spend the night next to Elena last night. When he heard that she would be awake soon, he wanted to be there when she woke up. I smiled at the thought. Matt and Nash haven't spoken since when Nash punched him.

" We don't have to be ordinary, make your best mistakes...." I heard Shawn sing while strumming his guitar.
I smiled at him and watched as he returned the favor.
Katrina was sleeping on my shoulder, she wasn't getting much sleep. Me too, honestly, I guess it's the stress.

" It's nice to wake up to Shawn singing...." I heard someone mumble.
I quickly snapped my head up to see Elena moving. Shawn immediately stopped his playing and everyone looked up from their phones.

" Elena? Elena! Your awake!" I exclaimed while quickly standing up to go to Elena's bed. Everyone quickly stood up, all excited.

" Elena! Thank god!"
" Finally, your awake!"
" I'm so happy!"

The room was filed with cheering and happiness.

" What happened?" Elena mumbled, looking around.
" Well, you fell down the stairs and cracked yout head." I answered, scratching the back if my neck.
" Ouch. You guys are all here?" Elena smiled, seeing that everyone was around her.
" We wouldn't miss you waking up for the world." Nash smiled at her and held her hand in his.

Elena's POV

" We don't have to be ordinary, make your best mistakes..." I immediately recognized Shawn's voice. I smiled to the sound of him strumming the guitar. I opened my eyes slowly, I looked around calmly, white walls. The hospital, I'm at the hospital obviously. I looked down at myself and saw that I had tubes attached to my chest and arms. I went back to listening to Shawn's voice.

" It's nice to wake up to Shawn singing..." I mumbled, smiling to myself.
The music soon stoped and I recognized my brother's voice " Elena? Elena! Your awake!" He exclaimed his voice full of joy. He watched as he quickly stood up from his seat and rushed over to my side. He was quickly followed by everyone else. A big grin appeared to my face at the sight of all my friends. They were all smiling down at me.
The room was filled with cheering and some happy dancing. I turned to Cam and asked " What happened?" remembering my night alone at home.
He looked at me in the eyes and mumbled " Well, you fell down the stairs and cracked your head open." he said fast while scratching the back of his neck.
" Ouch. You guys are all here?" I smiled, looking at the different smiling faces crowded around my hospital bed.
" We wouldn't miss you waking up for the world." I heard Nash say. I turned to him and looked at him in his bright blue eyes and I felt his hand slowly grab mine as we intertwined our fingers.

" Well, good news Ms. Dallas, you don't have any major injuries on your skull. We just had to sew the cut, 9 stitches."
I cringed at the nurse when she said how many stitches I went through.
" And for your breathing, we still need to examine it so you still need to stay here for about 2 weeks, but then you will be fine to go." The nurse continued and walked out of the room to speak with my mom. I listened to the door close, but after a few seconds, I heard as it opened again, revealing Hayes, Taylor, Matt and Mahogany.
I smiled at them as they all sat down next to me.

Hayes POV

We saw the nurse go out of Elena's room, we used that opportunity to go inside El's room. We just really wanted to see her. We quickly opened the door and closing it. We took seats next to Elena's bed. We all smiled at her.
" So, what has happened while I was in this hell hole?" She laughed. We all exchanged looks, all remembering what happened with Nash and Matt. We all knew it was a bad time for each of them to tell Elena about each of their feelings. I bit my lip nervously and spoke up " Well, nothing much really, i lied through my breath, Bart cancelled Magcon until you felt better and well we've all really been waiting for you to wake up." i smiled and held her hand, giving her a squeeze.
" Guyssss, I'm sure that there is something you aren't telling me." She pouted sarcastically. I chuckled nervously and answered her " It's just that something special is waiting for you when you come back to Magcon." I smiled. Matt, Taylor and Mahogany exchanged confused looks but went with it anyways. I wasn't lying, I had a plan.....
