Lead me out of the dark

Chapter 5

They get into the car and drive away. Alex drives for a while. Kaitlyn starts to wonder if he even knows where he's going. Eventually they end up at an abandoned ware house. There's a few cars outside of it. "Come on. Don't worry babe." "Are you sure this is okay?" Kaitlyn ask unsurely. "Yeah. It's just later tag." Kaitlyn laughs. "Oh. I wasn't sure if this place was abandoned and that you took me here to kill me." Alex laughs "haha no. It's just a laser tag place. They make it look creepy since it's almost October. And they need it to be dark so they can't see anyone running. All you see if lights and lighting up guns."  "Sounds like so much fun!"  They walk inside the creepy doors go into the elevator. When the doors open, there's a hallway they have to walk down. As the walk down the hallway, a door appears. "This place looks kinda sketchy" Kaitlyn says shaking a little. "Don't worry. I've been here a lot of times. I'm used to it". They open the door and enter a room. Tons of teens and kids are there. It looks like fun. The rooms red and tan. It's well decorated. Alex and Kaitlyn walk up to the counter and Alex says "two tickets for 4 rounds please." "Sure thing. One sec." The counter guy says. He comes back and has eight tickets. He gives them each four. "Alright. Now every time they call a number on one a ticket of each of yours, go into that door and give them your tickets." "Okay" Alex replies. They sit down for a bit and look at their tickets. Alex's tickets say "669, 665, 667, 668". Kaitlin's say "667, 668, 665, 669." Just like Alex's. "Number 665 for laser tag ready. That's 665 for laser tag ready." They walk into the door and other people are there. They all just look at each other. A guy walks up to them and puts the vests on them. He changes the colors of them. Each set of two people have different colors. Alex and Kaitlyn got green. "All phones must me turned off" they turn off their phones. Then, they go into the room and start playing. They're there for a bit. It goes like that every time they play. Same color every time too. It's about 5:39 when they get back into the car. "Wanna go get food? I'm starving!" "Yeah sure. Pizza?" "Okay". They go to a pizza place near her house. That day was perfect. After pizza Alex brings Kaitlyn home. They kiss and she walks inside. "Where were you Kate?" "I just went out after school" "okay. Just next time please tell me when you leave. I was so worried. I texted you." "Sorry mum. My phone was off. It won't happen again. I promise." "Okay. Well dinners almost done. You hungry?" "No thanks. I just had pizza". Kaitlyn says. She then walks upstairs and lays on her bed.
Alex: hey. Today was fun.
Kaitlyn: yeah. We should do it again sometime.
Alex: sounds great.
Kaitlyn: hey, tomorrow, do you think we could go hang out at your house?
Alex: no..why don't we go see a movie.
Kaitlyn: but why? I don't want to go out all the time. What's wrong with your house?
Alex: we just can't go there okay?
Kaitlyn: ..ok.
She sets her phone down and thinks for a while. " why won't he let me go to his house? What's he hiding? Maybe his parents embarrass him or something? I've gotta find out." Kaitlyn thinks.
