Ava are You With Me?

Its been exactly two days, and Ava and I haven't seen another tribute. 

Luis was confirmed dead last night.  We decided o believe that he was struggling to survive, crawling around the endless forest, a small sign of hope in his mind. Then he died trying to survive.

Ava did the math and figured out that there is 17 of us left.

I'm seventeen tributes away from going home. 

The wound on Ava's face  is starting to heal up, but the wounds in her mind aren't.

I'll wake up during the night, listening to her screams and cries from her nightmares. I only just realize now that that was her first kill.

"I killed her," She'll occasionally whisper. "She's dead"

The first few times I tried to comfort her, but now she does it so often.

We haven't left the shelter since Ava killed Alexi. Ava won't let me leave, so we've been starving in here for two days.

"Ava, I need to go hunt." I tell her finally. She looks back up at me with huge eyes.

"Don't leave me alone."

I sigh. It was worth a try. 

I glance at Ava and notice how bad she's getting. She has huge bags under her eyes from lack of sleep and her hair is coated with dirt and blood. But I probably look just as bad.

Then I hear a soft dinging noise. And it's the most beautiful thing I have ever heard in my life.

I jump out of the hole and start searching for the parachute. I spot it in a pile of leaves.

I undo the lid and look inside. A large package of crackers, a bottle of water, and.....sleeping pills?

Then it makes sense. Make Ava go to sleep so I can hunt.

I bite my lip. Is it safe?

I decide to risk it. What's the worst thing that could happen?

"Ava!" I yell before climbing into the hole. "Food!"

I take out a cracker for her and carefully place a pill with it.

Ava's eyes widen and she snatched it from me, pill and all.

She devours it in about one second.

Now I just have to wait.
