Gabe's POV:

I thought I had her. She was right there. She's still innocent after all this time. She's afraid of breaking the rules. I just watched her disappear as she walked farther and farther away from me. I heard a voice behind me. An annoying one especially.

"You were with Analyn?" Denise says. Oh and she's with the quarterback.

"Yeah so..? You were with pretty boy over there." I point to the guy.

"His name is David." She tells me. "Anyways, why were you with Analyn?"

"Just because she was alone. That party wasn't her scene." I shrug.

"And you decided to leave me?" Someone tell her to shut up.

"Denise, you were with uh.. David. And, you were totally flirting with him. I'm not gonna do anything about it because we're over." I walk away, leaving Denise and David in shock.

I quickly find my way to my house. Ugh, ghetto towns creep me out. Probably only because I don't come here often. I see that a diner is open late. And I see Analyn inside. She looks really upset. I can tell because when she's sad, her hair is in a deep part to the left and it's covering her face. I decide to go inside.

"Mind if I join?" I ask, and she looks up.

"No, not at all." Analyn gives me a weak smile. I sit across from her and notice that she had been crying.

"Analyn, are you okay?" She looks up at me.

"Why wouldn't I be?" Analyn said, softly.

"You've been crying." I state the obvious.

"You still know after all these years." She smiles.

"Why would I forget?" I question.

"Gabe, you're different now. You've changed a lot." She explains and sits up. "And people forget things about other people."

"I'd never forget you." I get up and sit next to her. "Do you remember when we were first paired together?"

"Mhm." She nods.

"You were so shy. We didn't even like each other." I honestly don't know where I'm going with this.

"And.." Analyn looks at me.

"I'm just glad we got closer. That's it." I move hair out of her face.

"I'm glad, but you haven't seen my other side." She said.

"I know the real you. I've known you forever. You're Analyn Reyes. You love the color light blue. You like to penny board, you love to read. You like your smoothies extra thick so you can eat them with a spoon. You love chocolate ice cream with hot fudge and marshmallows over it." I explain. "I know you love the little cafe downtown because you love reading there. You're right, I don't know your other side."

"How do you remember all the little things?" She was surprised.

"I know everything. I can't forget good memories." I shake my head and tilt her chin up.

"I'm like glass. Once you break it, it can't be fixed." Analyn has always been like this. "Forget me. You don't need someone like me."

"I can fix you." I get up.

"Forget me." She puts her hand on my shoulder and gives me a sad look. I look outside and it's raining. Pouring actually. She walks across the street and keeps walking. I go right behind her. Once I catch up to her, I grab her by her wrist and turn her so she'll face me. I kissed her. She kissed back.

"You can't forget someone you love

"You can't forget someone you love." We both pull back.

"You still love me?" She asks.

"Don't you?" I look into her eyes.

"I do, but I can't. It's just my heart says love you and my head says don't." Analyn runs her fingers through her wet hair.

"Follow your heart." I tell her.

"If I do love you, I don't wanna get screwed over like I did before." She shakes her head. "I don't wanna be left in the dust."

"I love you Analyn." I cup her cheeks.

"I love you too Gabe." She smiles.
