Chapter 1: Ugh Morings And Bullies

Darkness. All she saw was darkness. Ashlyn sat up in her bed, looking around her room. It was pitch black, and she felt scared. There where shadows in every corner of the tiny room.

Ashlyn Tanner had long black hair, and brown eyes. She mostly liked to wear her favourite  black and grey hoodie and her black leather boots. She lived with her mom, in a tiny apartment in San Fransisco.

Her moms name was Maria, and sadly Ashlyn had never met her dad. Her mom said he had to leave them two nights before Ashlyn was born, And that Maria couldn't do anything to stop him.

The next morning Maria went to go wake Ashlyn up early for school, Ashlyn felt  tired, mainly because she stayed up all night thinking about wether or not she would build up enough courage to stand up for herself.

She didn't want to go. It had been a long weekend, and she couldn't stop thinking about Lukas. The person who always beat her up. He picked on her before, after, and during school! But she couldn't let her mom worry about her. Maria had to work a lot of extra hours. McDonalds didn't really pay much. She worked so hard so she could make enough money to pay for the rent and their food.

So Ashlyn rolled out of bed, got dressed and ready for her day. While she was eating breakfast, she heard her mom walk into the kitchen. Ashlyn said goodbye and that she loved her, and trudged off to school.

   Ashlyn was on her way to school when she bumped into Lukas and his two 'sidekicks', Nathan and James. 

"Well, well, well, what have we got here!?" Asked Lukas with an evil grin. "Leave me alone!!" She shouted back.  *okay, everything is going just fine so far.* she thought to herself.  That was until, of  course, Nathan grabbed Ashlyn's arms and pinned them behind her back. He was waiting for Lukas' command to start punching her. "Okay fine, I'll leave you alone, "
replied lukas. And gave the signal for Nathan and James to pulverize her.  "But that doesn't mean i wont make them kill you."

*just great,* she thought. *I'm going to be smashed to pieces by these two idiots!*. "Wait what !?!... KILL ME!?" She screamed. Just when James was about to smash her face in, she felt a tugging sensation in her gut. It was so painful, she shut her eyes tight, bent over, and clutched her stomach. 

She heard someone say "what the-" and then really fain screaming. All of a sudden, the pain was gone. She opened her eyes and noticed that no one was there. Lukas, James and Nathan were simply gone. Then she looked down.

Where they were standing, was a crack in the ground, about 3 feet long, and it was steaming.  She was so confused now. It was like the ground just ate them. *did I do that?* she thought, but she shook aside the question, and continued on her way...
