So my house is on fire right now, I promise you I didn't do it. It's not my fault. It's Gisselle's fault really, she's the one who decided that us just tolerating the sun wasn't enough. She thought that we needed better protection not me, that didn't stop my mom from pulling my ear and pulling me along with her thpugh. Inside my father and uncle were collecting as many things as they could. Gisselle had grabbed some of the family's jewel and treasure and held them close to her. I grabbed as much stuff as I could and shoved it into a duffle bag, there was still so much that I wanted to grab but there was no time.

"Maminka, I promise it wasn't my fault," I exclaimed as she pinched my ear more. She glared at me, I mean we were already planning on leaving but I guess that this really the last nail in the coffin.

"Mat'o you really did it now," Gisselle stuck her tongue out at me as she skipped around the house, that cunning little fox. She always got away with her handy work. She slid her fingers across the flames and brought some of the flickering flames to her lips and licked it like it was some sort of dessert. I guess in some ways it was my fault but Gisselle really did start the fire, she has an odd habit of doing that. I stood there in my batman pyjama bottoms and bare feet watching as the flames grew larger licking the entire house, consuming as much of it as it could.

My father and uncle returned holding Gisselle's spell enhanced bags, they were bulbous looking as if too much had been stuffed in there even if it was magical. I could only hope that maybe they picked up some of my books although I doubt they would bother.

"We salvaged as much as we could," my uncle grumbled. "Lucky banks exists, it's not as bad as last time Matêj. We know better now."

"I told you it wasn't my fault Gisselle did it," I snapped, my mother just pinched my ear harder. I clamped my mouth shut and my father and uncle exchanged looks.

"Well, we were going to leave anyways. Might as well leave with a bit of excitement," Gisselle smirked and skipped towards her father and wrapped her dainty arms around his fat beer belly. He pushed her fiery red locks out of her face.

"You had a part in this too, you both are in trouble." My father growled as he began walking. We all followed him Gisselle's smirk quickly disappeared. I couldn't help my lips from curving upwards my mother let go of my ear and smacked me.

She pushed her blonde hair out of her face, she looked dishevelled, she was only in silk nightgown with no shoes on. At that moment, I felt a pang of guilt. Luckily my father saw this coming and handed her a bag. You could always count on him, he passed Gisselle and me a bag as well. I slung it over my shoulder and kept the other bag in my hand Gisselle shoved all the Jewels into her bag.

"I am sorry Rozálie, I wasn't able to grab all your clothes. The magické taška could only fit so much moje láska." if my mother was alive her cheeks would be bright red. Even after centuries together my Father was so in love with her. "there is shoes for you, though."

"shoes for me in my bag as well," I asked though I was sure that they wouldn't let me wear them. Punishment for burning the house. My father looked over at me, he nodded but I knew better than to go digging around in the pack for them. "I am sorry everyone," I reluctantly mumbled. My mother gave me a half smile.

"you always keep us happy Matêj, so is okay." My mother said softly as she began ruffling through the bag. She pulled out some black flats and slipped them on. "I am ready," she passed me her bag and i slung it on to my other shoulder and we began our journey. My Father and uncle ran in front of us Leading us to the new home. I lingered for a moment watching the house burn to the ground Gisselle stood beside me watching.

"I will take care of this." Gisselle skipped to the flames and opened up a strange purple canister with a jewel covered lid, the flames danced its way into the canister and she quickily closed it. She gave me a wicked smile and skipped away. I shook my head and followed after her. Life is challenging with a witch for a cousin.
