You stood up, stretching, just as Ozpin turned to look at you. In your stretch, you didn't notice him looking. "Oz, we should go practice soon." You say, your words nestling themselves into his ears.
The gray-brown haired young man spoke quickly but smoothly. "I'd much rather stay out here with you. Look at the sky today, the sun today, and you today." He bit his own tongue, regretting his words. He could feel himself blushing as he realized what he'd said to you.
Laughing, you blushed lightly while replying with, "The sky, the sun, and I will be here tomorrow! We need to hone our skills, Ozzie!"
A wind blows by the two of you, it tugs at your skirt, blowing it up in the air. Ozpin looks at you from the ground, and then looks away feverishly, adjusting his glasses. "There might be clouds tomorrow. I'd love to spend today here." He sighed, resting his head in his palms.
You reluctantly sit back down next to him, but don't mind as long as you get to be with him. You wanted to practice fighting because his weapon just happened to be very cool, and no one really gets to see it.
You look at him, you catch him gazing down at you. His face turns light pink, his eyes widen. "Why do you like to look at me so much? Why do you hang out with me so often?" You ask him, hoping his reply is honest, but not harmful.
The boy blushes harder, and squirms an inch away. "Why would you ask that? You're my friend!" He cries out, facepalming.
"I'm asking because I'm one of the worst huntresses, yet you still sit with me every day!" You laugh, punching him on the shoulder. He lets out a yelp and rubs his shoulder.
He averts his eyes, then sucks in a breath of cool air. He has that look you know oh so well, when he's trying to figure out just what to say. You love that look.
"I think you're a great huntress. You're hard-hitting, swift, and have almost endless willpower. I've never seen you give up."
You scoffed, "That doesn't explain why you hang out with me!"
"I hang out with you because..." He replies, but cuts himself off. He freezes up, as if he nearly said something which he shouldn't have said.
You gave him a sideways glance, he looked very nervous. You imagined what he saw. You were just a normal girl, a girl who was only mediocre or worse. But still, everyday, he spoke and sat with you. It drove you wild.
Without hardly thinking, you moved your head onto his lap. You felt him flinch, but he did not push you away. "Oz... I bet you must really really like me." You say to him, hoping he doesn't get uncomfortable.
You can see him sigh, he reaches down and pats your forehead. With a smile, and the sun of today shining behind him, he looks possibly even more handsome.
Carefully, you lean up and lightly place your lips on his. You feel him slightly push back, just as you pull away, and lean back onto his lap.
"I do like you, a lot, I guess." Ozpin stutters, flustered but trying to remain cool.
You laugh a little. "That's perfect for me."
