The cold breeze blew in my face. I cupped a cup of Starbucks Hot Chocolate with both of my hands, seeking some warmth from the cup.

DING!
I looked at my phone to see a text from Kendall,my best friend.
"Are you at the game yet?"

Shivering I slowly started to type. Walking in rn

I turned around the corner and stopped in front of my high school. Today was Kendall's hockey game and I can miss it. If she wins this game, she gets to go to Nationals. Hockey is her life. I have to be there for her. I ran inside and quickly found a seat on the bleachers.

I was scanning the room for Kendall, when I laid my eyes on something worse. Ryder.

His arm was around Alice, my sworn enemy. She always took things that I loved but I never thought Ryder would fall for her tricks.

He was kissing her. In public. When he was supposed to be dating me.

My eyes widened. The room was spinning as I walked toward their direction. My cup dropped to the floor, the brown liquid splashing onto the floor.

He lied.

"Ryder.." I said my voice dying. My vision blurred. A sob built up in the back of my throat.

Two warm brown eyes that made me feel so loved and safe looked up at me. "Maddie, it's not what you think" he said, his eyes filled with fear.

Even after kissing her in public, he had the guts to lie to me AGAIN.

"SHUT UP! HOW COULD YOU?!!" I screamed. My lungs felt sore and my voice was raspy. I clenched my fists.

"Madd-"

"Get away from me" I screeched in disgust as he tried to hold my hand. Tears flooded down my cheeks.

I felt my heart break into a million pieces.

I ran out of the gymnasium, heartbroken.

I didn't only lose the love of my life. I lost my best friend.
(Back to present)

I woke up gasping for air. My cheeks were wet from tears. My neck was coated with beads of sweat.

Two hands were shaking my shoulders, while gently whispering my name.

"Maddie! Maddie! Are you okay?"

"Yeah" I replied weakly.

"It's been a year since he's cheated on you. You need to move on." She said, her eyes filled with concern.

"I'm fine, Kendall, really."

"No you're not," she said with a mischievous grin, "and I know exactly how I'm gonna cheer you up."

"I can't believe I'm doing this" I said looking at the big mansion in front of me. Loud music blared out of the big speakers on the front porch. Nervously, I tugged on the end of my dress.

"Oh come on, Mads." Kendall said as she grabbed my wrist and dragged me inside. Once we were inside, I was greeted by a loud jock who bumped into me. His feverish lips touched the crook of my neck. My eyes opened wider as realization dawned upon me. "What the hell?" Instinctively, I kneed the guy.

"Ugh" He groaned in pain and crumpled to the ground. Bastard. Quickly, I walked away. I turned around to find, well whatever that is.

"MADS YOU'VE GOTTA GET UP HEREEEE" Is that Kendall? I blinked my eyes twice in case I couldn't see clearly.  She was dancing like there was no tomorrow and below her, a crowd full of high school boys cheered her on, while wolf whistling, hooting, and screaming. OH MY GOD, WHAT IS SHE DOING?!

After I somehow finally managed to get Kendall off the bar counter. I decided it was time to go home, besides Kendall was completely drunk. "Mads, I think you should change your name to Brownie Whipped Cream."

I gave her a strange look. " Why?"

"Cause it would match your hair color and it sounds amazing. Just imagine BROWNIE WHIPPED CREAM PARKINSON!!"

"You're so drunk," I smiled to myself while I carried Kendall into the taxi.
