*A picture of Ben is to the right*

The day I witnessed my parents die, my world came crashing down around me. Where was I supposed to go? What would happen to me and Lily? What about Ben's medical bills? My mind nearly shut down from the overload of problems coming at me.
4 hours earlier
"Mom! When are we leaving?!" I shouted in annoyance. I had been waiting for so long to go to this amusement park and now my mom was taking forever to get ready. I mean, how long does it take to get ready to go to an amusement park?
"I'm almost there sweetie!" My mom shouted down the stairs. I huffed in frustration and plopped down on the couch next to my little siblings, Ben and Lily. They were 8 year old twins and were currently watching some type of cartoon on TV. I rolled my eyes at the high pitched voices and comical laughs on the show and turned my attention to my phone as it vibrated against my thigh. I reached into my pocket, pulled it out, and glanced at the screen. I had one new text message from Carey. I quickly unlocked my phone and read her message.
When u comin? :P
I quickly typed in my reply and sent it all in one fast movement.
Hopefully soon... Mom not ready. b there soon. xoxo
"Mom!" I yelled once more.
"Okay okay Sophie. We can go now." she said calmly, while walking down the stairs. Our whole family piled into the car and I quickly buckled my seat belt, ready to go. My dad put the car in reverse and we backed out of our driveway. Soon we were off down the road on our way to Screamin' America.
The second we reached the park I jumped out of the car as if I was a little kid again, given that I was 15. I know. Being 15 years old and being this ecstatic about an amusement park. What can I say? I'm a kid at heart.
I ran towards the front gate almost bursting with enthusiasm. Near the gates I saw Carey and waved like a crazed maniac. She giggled into her hands and waved back just as I had. I ran up to her and together, we entered Screamin' America. It looked better than I had ever imagined it to be. Screams filled the air as people rode the terrifying roller coasters, the scent of popcorn and cotton candy invaded my nose, the colors of nearby game booths blurred at the corners of my eyes. I took in everything around me and let out a sigh. "Let's go!' Carey screamed, breaking me from my trance. She pulled me along and soon we were in line for the most famous roller coaster at the park. The Devil's Railway. As we stood in line, I could already hear people screaming in terror as they went through loop the loops, sharp turns, and steep drops. Before I knew it, we were at the front of the line and ready to get on the ride.
We step into the small seats and sit down. The bars dropped down in front of us and with a jerk the ride started up. It started out slow, but soon picked up speed and raced around some turns. The wind tore at my face and knotted my hair as the ride went even faster. My heart was racing and when I thought it was going to burst, we reached the bottom of the steep climb. Slowly the train of roller coaster cars lurched up the tracks. We got closer and closer to the top until we reached the top and my heart had a mini heart attack. It was a long way down and before I had time to think, the coaster zoomed down the steep incline making my stomach drop. I put my arms in the air and screamed my lungs out. Adrenaline was pumping through my body and as the ride continued, I had the time of my life. When the ride finally came to a stop, I stepped out of the small car feeling dazed. I looked to my left and Carey's face seemed to mirror mine. She raised her head and focused her eyes on me.
"That was awesome!" we yelled in unison and highfived. We were even more pumped then we had been before and we ran off to enjoy every single ride at this park. We rode the teacups, the merry go round, Blaze, Serpent's Tail, and so many other rides. Then we ate hot dogs, cotton candy, ice cream, popcorn, and almost everything else the park had to offer. We played ring toss, pop the balloon, and games galore. I was having the time of my life and I never wanted it to end. But everything comes to an end and eventually our parents found us and told us it was time to go. Although our time on cloud nine had ended, we were happy and in the best mood ever. We split ways, her going with her family, and me going with mine.
