A Kiss to Remember

Chapter 2

I was so surprised! I couldn't breathe. I pull away. "Sorry, I didn't mean to do that so suddenly. I just really......wanted to."  I just stare at him. So many thoughts are running through my head. Why would he kiss me? Does he really like me? We had just met! Does he know I like him? Do I keep this a secret? Too much questions. "Do you hate me?", he asked desperately. "I don't hate you. That was just very sudden.", I replied trembling. My hands were shaky. The next thing I know the bell is ringing and I am getting up. I stand up and say " Well I have to go. I don't wanna be late to 1st block." I rush out of there. I run to my first block looking for my best friend Covie. I see her and run over to her. I tell her the whole story. " He just flat out kissed you?", she asks. "Yea, how do I respond to that" I ask as I sit down. "Well do you like him?" I think about the question and almost instantly say I do. "Then go out with him. It's honestly not that hard of a decision.", she says. "Ok, you have that happen to you and then tell me that it's not a hard decision. ", I say sarcastically. The bell rings again indicating 1st block is starting. Class goes on as usual. 1st blocks bell rings and I'm almost the first one out. I rush to my next class. I'm the first one in the classroom. Students start piling in like there is a famous singer in the classroom or something. 2nd block goes through as normal and the bell rings and class is over. I start to go to the lunchroom. Coby starts to walk beside me. "Hello. I hope you don't hate me." I'm thinking in my head that of course I don't hate him. I actually love him, but we have to consider the fact that I don't exactly know if I know what love is. "No, I don't hate you." I replied. "I was just very surprised" I say. We get to the lunchroom and I'm standing in line with Coby right behind me. "I love mini corn dogs!" Coby exclaims. "I'd rather have Subway or Burger King but I guess these will have to do" I say kind of sounding a little weirded out. We get out of line and start toward the table with our mini corn dogs. I sit next to my best friend, Covie. We start talking about classes and homework." I hate algebra," I say stuffing a mini corn dog in my mouth. She replies" doesn't everybody?" Coby sits down next to me. Covie nudges me with her shoulder. I look up at her. She gesturing her eyes toward Coby while he is stuffing as many mini corn dogs in his mouth as he can. She's looking at me as if I should say 'Hey your super hot and I think every girl in the school can agree'. I'm looking at her like she should shut up. "Not right now" I whisper. Coby's friends come over in a pile and as soon as they sit down, I stand up. "Where are you going," he asks as he drinks his milk. I stand up with my tray in hand. " Me and Covie are going to go sit out there until the bell rings," I say as I point to outside of the lunch room. We walk toward the garbages to dump our trays. As soon as we think they can't hear us "Ooo, Kaitlin's got a boyfriend," she says as if we were in 3rd grade and someone just got cooties. "I do not," I say. "Really? Then what was that?" "Can't I just have a guy friend?" I ask as if thats a bad thing. "The way he looks at you proves he is not just a guy friend," she replies all snooty. I roll my eyes. We walk over to our normal spot by the doors against the wall. Covie gets on her phone right away. I look at the opposite wall and start to think. I think about the kiss that happened this morning. I wonder what was going through his mind when he decided to do that. I wonder why he even did it. I'm deep in thought when Alexis, another friend of mine, comes up to me looking shocked. "You kissed Coby?!?!"she exclaims. I look over at Covie with my face saying 'really?' She smiles like she's an innocent angel or something. "Technically, he kissed me and I guess I kind of just let it happen" I say back. I look back at the wall going back into deep thought. The bell disturbs my deep thinking and I start to walk to class. The day goes on as normal. The last bell of the day rings and I rush out of class. I am almost running to my locker hoping not to run into Coby. I grab my things in a hurry and shut my locker and standing there on the other side of my locker is Molly Jones. She is the most popular girl in school. She is also Coby's ex. "Well hello, can I help you Molly?" I say sarcastically. She looks at me with a scorn and says "Stay away from him. If you don't, I will personally hurt you so bad that you will cry for your mommy." I've hated her ever since 3rd grade. Her and I used to be friends until she told her mom that I told her that she was fat, which I never said by the way. "Look, you can't threaten me because I'm not scared. You can't scare me Molly," I say as I start to walk away. " I will win this," she yells at the other end of the hallway. She yells again "This. means. WAR!"
