As I was helping my mom carry in some of my belongings, I saw a boy in a green Under Armour shirt riding his rip stick down the road. I looked at him and smiled. He smiled back! I continued to carry in my dresser with my mom.
Finally, we got everything into my new room. I think it looked great! I took a picture of it and snapchatted it to my friends. My mom called me down and said we were going to Avery's for dinner. "Are you going to wear that?" She asked me. I looked down and saw I was still in my shorts and sneakers. I shrugged. "Why not?"
Luckily, Miss. Avery's house was within walking distance. My mom knocked on the door with a tray full of brownies in her arm. Miss Avery hugged her and said she was so glad to see her. She realized the brownies were in her hand and said, "Oh my gosh, Kayla. You didn't have to! Come on in. Hi, Carson!" I walked in and noticed a familiar person sitting on the couch playing NBA 2k16. It was the boy in the green shirt! He looked at me and smiled. "Hey Carson. My mom told me about you. My name is Peyton." I gave him a happy face and said, "Hey, Peyton." I felt butterflies.
I sat down at the table and was served lasagna. "Carson, this is Peyton. He will be going to South Hills too," my mom told me. "I went to elementary at private school too," he said as he looked up at me. I smiled back and went, "Cool."
After dinner I went home and got ready for bed. Tomorrow was my first day of school. I had my outfit picked out (above) and was excited to start. It would be a really big change for me. I am going for 20 kids in my grade to about 300! I texted my friends as I slid into bed.

I shut my phone down and laid there for a moment. Tomorrow was the start of, well, practically a new life. I could completely change myself if I wanted to. These people have never met me. I stared at my wall and thought about Peyton. I bet we will be really good friends. He seems like a really nice kid!!
I finally wore myself out and closed my eyes.
