My life has been very hard for me. I was born in a poor family of six and as the last child my family decided they just couldn't afford me after six years and just left me by myself. I was put in a new family and went to school, but none of the families were ever nice to me.

Except for The Johnson family. They took me in and cared for me like their own, until money got tight for them too and let me go.

I still go to school and right now walking the early morning, misty, and dark streets of New York on my way to Jefferson High School, I feel alone and abandoned. I arrived just in time for the late bell and headed towards my English class, missing my breakfast.

I sat down next to my best and only friends, Brayden, Kyley, Rakeal, and Kenzie. Brayden's your typical "high school bad boy feign" and the girls are your hilarious, silly and popular cheerleaders for the football team.

I surprised myself when I met them and actually became friends with them.

So I sat down on my desk and pulled out my textbook when Brayden said, "You're going to want to watch this."

He headed towards Mr.Johnson, who he hates with all his heart, and stealthily kicked the desk outwards while Mr.Johnson was walking to his desk. He tripped on the chair and fell very hard on the floor. "Which, I thought, isn't a very clean one."

When Mr. Johnson got up he cleaned himself off and then very suddenly yelled, " Who is the person that pushed that desk?"

When no one answered him, he tried making a bluff that everyone in the whole school knew was a lie. "The school has the security cameras in the classrooms. Save the drama and trouble and I may let you go." Again no one answered and he said," I will find out who did this." Then he started the lesson.

After the first few periods of class lunch time started. Over the crowd I could see my group of friends sitting at their table. I went in line got my so called food and sat with them. Rakeal, Kenzie, and Kyley all looked at me with worried looks.

"Hey Michael, are you feeling alright?", Rakeal asked peering at me curiously.

"Oh, I'm fine.", I said even though for some reason I have been feeling precariously weird all morning.

While we were eating our lunch, I saw this shady figure who seemed to be a man standing in the cafeteria entrance staring at..I looked behind to see if he was looking at someone else cause it seemed he was staring at me.

I continued to look at the man trying not to give myself away as my street rules kicked in.

"Hey, I was wondering if you would want to go watch a movie after school?",Brayden said as he was munching on his peanut butter sandwich.

Grossed out by seeing peanut butter on his mouth and teeth I said, "Sure, whatever. I'll meet you there at five." When I turned back to stare at the figure, he was gone.

After school ended at Three, I was already heading towards the theater to wait for Brayden. I counted my money to see what I could buy at the theater when I realized that I was being followed. I looked past a mirror as I walked by and saw that a man and a car seemed to be following me. I knew that if I ran the car and the man would come after me. I saw an alleyway and decided this was my chance.

I suddenly turned down the alleyway and started pushing trash cans behind as I noticed the man was following me.

"At least I got the car off my tail, but why are these people even following me?", I thought. I heard a curse as the man fell over a pushed down trash can.

I laughed in victory until I was silenced by a man's fist that was waiting at the other end of the alley.

I woke up in a dark space and was being jostled around. I realized I was in the trunk of a car. I wasn't tied up, so that means they didn't think I would be awake when we reach wherever we were going. I found out that they took my phone and other belongings but not the pocket knife I kept hidden in my shoe. I would have to thank a street friend later for that.

"That's if I get out of here alive.", a dark thought I had crept into my mind.

I cut out some of the car and was able to peek to see how many guys were in the car. I gasped as I saw the man from the cafeteria staring back at me.
