Brad sighs and runs a hand through his curly hair before putting a beanie back over the unruly mess. He puts the hold he's been holding in front of his face in his pocket in search of his phone.

Fifteen minutes until his plane. Fifteen minutes until he's in a new country, a new continent, and it feels exhilarating. There's a different euphoria with every plane ride and that's something that his parents, not even his friends, seem to get.

A week after he graduated from college he had taken off with no parting and no plans to see a familiar face for a long time. They didn't get that he just needed time, time to figure out what he was going to do with a degree that he barely deserved. He just needed time to be away from them and all of their reminders of his past failures, how lucky he was to have this. The question of what is 'this' had led the twenty-four year old to where he is now.

Fuck, he thinks, what the fuck am I doing? His thoughts sound panicked but yet right he's smiling. Right now he's picking up his bags and his smile is blinding with the thought of how worried his poor mom must be about her 'favorite' and only son. He's smiling because he knows right now everyone is freaking out about where the little rich boy ran off to.

Now he hears the announcement that his plane leaves in twenty minutes and decides that he'll wait until the middle of his ten hour flight to think about the guilt of leaving James behind.

He's going to wait until later for the thoughts to come clouding in along with common sense because right now Brad just wants to fly.
