As heavy eyelids fluttered closed, Peter drifted off into an odd state in which his mind was both idle and resting yet also alert and aware of its surroundings.

Tonight's dream was a "seemingly real" hallucination.. As vivid as they came.

〰 This feeling... it was traumatizing.

Heartbreak was a physical pain that's just as real as an emotional ache.. It felt as if he were an addict and suddenly, out of the blue, his supply was stripped away from existence.

The immediate feeling was a deep sense of numbness in the pit of Peter's stomach while at the same time a despair for which he had no explanation overwhelmed him.

It was as if his heart sunk, rotted, and spilled out into the floor through his rib cage; a bloody mess.

Bright eyes frantically searching;

'Where are you?

Where did you go?

Don't leave me here all alone!'

And he was running; running as fast as he possibly could; soles of bare feet bruising, numbing, from the pain.. But he couldn't stop.

No.

'I need to find you!

Please! Take me with you!

/Take me with you/!'

Lungs ablaze; breathing heavy; liquid dripping from temple to chin, but it wasn't sweat.

'What is this?'

It was... rain?

'I can't be left here by myself!!

I'm scared!

What did I do!?

What did I do wrong!?'

He couldn't run any longer, no..

Now he was falling and the ground was getting closer and closer, faster and faster; and he looked up only to see the silhouette of the man he had been chasing; Peter strained as he reached for the shadowed figure.

'Don't let me fall!'

But it becoming to late and the cold, hard ground below- 〰

Bright green eyes snapped open and a started young man abruptly sat up from where he laying.

It wasn't realized until now that Peter was nearly drenched in sweat, hands tightly gripping the sheets; a rabid heartbeat and heavy breathing filled the silence.

What was that?

A dream?

It felt far to real to be a dream, yet indeed that's what it was.

Peter had never experienced something so horrible in his entire life and oncoming tears seemed to heat his entire face; as if he had come down with a burning fever within the last few minutes.

It was.. A dream about Charles... Leaving him behind and Peter never understood what heartache /truly/ felt like until that exact moment.
