Its short but its something. More is in the works!

The drifting of chanting and aromatic herbs fill the air. I feel light and distant from my pain. The chanting fades while the smell of burning herbs lingers, soaking in to my body, acting as a tether to keep my mind here, in this place. There is a reason to stay and not drift off but the why is eluding me.

Something opens then clicks. I hear faint murmurs followed by quick steps and a little bit of scuffling.

None of this makes any sense.

The weight of something presses down on me but I am unable to discern what is causing the pressure. I struggle to pull my consciousness to my physical form, I fight so I can find the reason why my heart yearns to stay even while my mind fights to protect us from. . . . . pain.

Why is there pain? What can't I remember?

My heart knows, thankfully, someone needs to.

I ache for something, a touch, a demanding force that needs my heart more than I do.

A creak and a click sounds through this place again. This time the footsteps heading my direction sound heavier than the ones from earlier. The person exudes comfort, safety and another emotion my mind refuses to name.

A drifting hand grazes my cheek causing the two piece of my being to draw towards each other and become one.

"Please get better, heal and wake in time to meet me."

This one phrase echoes and repeats though my heart and mind before my body and heart take me away to do as he asks.

There is so much to do before she wakes. I hope she does my Aunt assured me she would. She has to wake up.

I look at her prone form and ask, "Please wake up, sweetheart," before exiting the door I and disappearing for a little while in the twilight.
