I sighed as I looked over at my friend, talking about a hockey game he had just went to.

“Dude, I don’t even know what you’re talking about anymore.” I said with a laugh. He smacked his lips and rolled his eyes’. I swore he was gay, but he swore he wasn’t. I’ll find out.

“Oh, this is going to be so much fun.” He squealed.

I groaned. “For you. I don’t even know why you brought me here. This is for couples, not singletons like me.” I said. We were at the park, they were having some kind of projection show in the sky and, they had like spots for couples. Over the years, people had made it a tradition to bring their significant other and cuddle throughout the whole thing. I didn’t have anybody. And get this, he had a date. I swear his life goal is to make me look like a loser. I groaned as the couples came into view. Half of them were openly making out. I saw a valley girl smoothing out a pallet thingy and winking at Jordan. Must be his date. He waved back.

“And what exactly am I supposed to do when you guys start making out?” I asked, about to go home.

He was staring at her double DDs, drooling. In his jug induced stupor, he mumbled I don’t care, but caught himself.

“Ugh, sorry, look there’s at least one single guy here. Go find him.” He said, shoving me forward. I stumbled forward and turned to glare at him, only finding empty space. He was already cozy with DD. I sighed as I did a complete 360, feeling like a complete loser. I heard someone’s high, loud guffaws. I turned towards the sound and gasped. It was Heath. He was one of my friends from school and right next to him was my other friend, Danny. He was laughing too. I had a huge crush on Danny for a few years. It was an on and off thing. He was really mean sometimes but it was under certain circumstances. It’s complicated, but right now we were friends. I waved and they went overdramatic and started screaming my name. We were drawing attention, so I decided to join them. We finally met up, and greeted each other. Heath left with his date and that left Danny and I, both dateless. I looked at him, only to find him looking at me. I quickly glanced away.

“You, uhh got a date?” He asked, looking uncomfortable. That immediately boosted my confidence.

“Nope, you?” I asked.

He shook his head. We waited.

“Alright, we sittin together or what?” I asked, getting impatient. He looked at me, surprised and nodded. I smiled at him and he sexily smirked at me. We headed to the last open spot kind of away from everyone else. I laid down next to him, about 6inches away. He looked at me. I didn’t look away this time. His fingers’ grazed my face and he closed his eyes’. He suddenly pulled me close and we got tangled together. I buried my face in the crook of his neck and inhaled deeply. He smelled like Axe. I sighed in content. The show started, though I neither heard nor saw nothing, gazing into his deep brown eyes’. After, it was over everyone was just kind of talking.

“Why did you do this?” I asked, curious.

His smirked turned sheepish. “I-I like you.” He said.

I cocked my head to the side. “You do?” I asked.

“Yeah, I’ve kinda been trying to hint at you since this year started. But, I guess it didn’t work. Look, I’m really sorry for last year. I know what I did can’t be made up for, but I just want you to know. I’m frustrated, I couldn’t help it, though that’s not an excuse.” He said looking ashamed.

“Hey, don’t feel too bad. I probably should apologize too. But, I honestly thought you hated me.” I said, truthfully.

“What? Of course not, I just couldn’t stop thinking about you.” He said gazing into my eyes. I smiled softly.

“I like you too.” I said. He looked at my lips and slowly leaned in. He cupped my cheeks and grazed his lips across mine. I wasn’t really past pecks, so I felt inexperienced. I guess he was too. He pressed his lips against mine and just stayed like that. After, we parted, I grabbed his face and smashed my lips to his. I started to kneed them, and frenched him a little. He moaned and responded with a sudden fierceness. We pulled apart, breathing hard. I looked into his eyes’, getting lost. Is it bad that I never want to be found?
