Praeses watched from afar, a stray tear slipping down his cheek. He was running out of time and soul, and she still hadn't even found him yet. He turned away when Allie knelt beside her best friend's broken body, like she always did. He could hear Allie weeping uncontrollably, while her beau tried to console her.
No matter how hard he tried, subject 24576 would always end up at this point, with blood spurting from her nose. Her ribs cracked, her spine severed. Her brain was still active, so the only movement left was that of her twitching body in front of the streetcar .
He couldn't bear to watch her. This had to end soon. He had watched this happen 5 times already. Praeses would have to bend the rules, even more than he already had.
Why this girl? He didn't know.
He snapped his fingers and disappeared from the painful scene, determined to change the fate of Juliette Sanders. Or let her change it all on her own.
