Hermione, Ginny and Harry walked to the train compartment together. Ron and Lavender walked behind them, hands linked. Ron and Hermione broke off the relationship shortly after the war, realizing they just didn't work... There was just too much fighting, and it was simply unhealthy. However Hermione hated seeing them together. She had a hard time admitting it but she still liked him, and couldn't get over Ron that easily. As they arrived at a empty train compartment they all sat, beginning their normal chit-chat.

"So Mione, what classes are you taking this year?" Ginny asked, taking her away from her book. The red-head gave a slight smile as she settled into her place in between Hermione and Harry, her hand linking with his.

"Potions, Ancient Ruins, Muggle Studies, Care of Magical Creatures, D.A.D.A, Transfiguration, Herbology and Magical Medicine Studies" Hermione answered casually. Having the window seat, she looked out to see the train exit the station into the country side, giving the whistle one last blow.

"Wow! Hermione that's eight classes! How do you have time for all that?!" Harry chimed in. Harry leaned forward to see the brunette pass his girlfriend, being on the end and Ginny in the middle.

"There not all in the same day, silly, in fact I have free periods everyday to catch up on homework" Hermione replied with a smile and went back to her book. Opening it up and crossing her leg to prop up the book on her thigh.

"Merlin Hermione" Ginny mutter through a chuckle.

Ron and Lavender sat across from the three. Lavender was practically in Ron's lap they were so close - much to Hermione's dismay. But she kept her nose in her book as an hour passed by. Her mind kept flicking to her parents, who she did not have in her life anymore.  After obiliating them she lost them permanently. When they were found they're memories could not be restored. She found herself reading the same sentence over and over but could not stop thinking about them.

They would never see her graduate, they would never meet her boyfriend who would be - the one. They would never go to her wedding, her father wouldn't walk her down the isle. They would never meet they're grandchildren (provided she even had children). They will never be able to see all the things Hermione always dreamed of them seeing, and it crushed her.

After a little over an hour  of thinking Hermione snapped back into reality and looked at her wrist watch, "Oh I gotta go to the heads compartment! Wish me luck!" She smiled and grabbed her trunk. Putting her book under her arm, her wand in one hand and her other dragging her trunk, Harry opened the door for her. Muttering a thanks she walked into the hall.

"Good luck Mione" Harry and Ginny both told her with warm smiles.

With a flick of her wand her clothes changed into her robes. As she walked down the hall her mind strayed to Ron. She could not help feel a tiny bit upset. He never talked to her execpt for a greeting. He didn't care when she left, he didn't even say a goodbye. Pushing it all down, she bounded down the hallway. She then arrived to the heads compartment and opened the door to see Draco Malfoy sitting there. With shock plastered to her face she sat down.

"Miss Granger! Wonderful timing!" Professor McGonagall said. A friendly smile played on her wrinkled lips as she stood to greet her. Her robes flowing around her, her gray bun tucked tightly into her hat.

Hermione smiled at the headmistress before Draco and her glared at each other.

"Your not serious! She's head girl?!" Draco asked Mcgonagall, throwing his hands in the air.
