'Ivory!' I shouted as I served the ball. I hit it hard with my racket. 'Hm?' Ivory turned around at the worst moment, and the ball hit her in the nose. 'OW! Son of a-' Ivory rubbed her nose. 'Sorry Ivy. I thought you might have turned round sooner.' I winced. Ivory scowled, then smiled. 'It's okay. I really ought to scold myself for having the attention span of a goldfish.' She laughed. 'I'm awful at tennis' I frowned, hitting the ball against the wall. 'You just need more practice Lynn.' Ivory smiled. 'Mm.' I nodded in disbelief. Then the popular girls came along. Mary-Jane and Francesca, but everyone basically just calls her Fran. 'Hey dumb and dumber. You're dumber Aizlynn' Mary-Jane scowled at me. I was usually teased because of my high grades. I had always worked my hardest, as my mother's wish before she passed was for me to have a good start in life. I pursed my lips and looked away, embarrassed. 'Shut your trap hole Mary-Jane.' Ivory growled. Mary-Jane gawped in disbelief. 'My father always said if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.' Ivory grinned smartly. 'Has your father ever told you to shut the hell up?' Francesca smirked. Ivory pursed her lips. She looked real pissed. 'Leave before I shove your Jimmy Choo designer heels where designer heels don't go.' Francesca and Mary-Jane shrieked and waddled like penguins away. I stifled a giggle. 'Now c'mon.' Ivory packed our tennis equipment up and we headed back to the school.
As we were walking back, rain started to pour down. We both screamed and laughed, and covered our heads with our dark blue blazers. We ran back to the school, dripping wet. Unfortunately as we got to the door, Mrs Black was standing at the door. She was NOT happy. 'GIRLS! What on EARTH do you think you are doing out this weather?!' She yelled. 'We were coming back from a game of tennis, and-a-and-' I stuttered and my words trailed off. 'We got caught in the rain' Ivory finished. Mrs Black glared at us. Very well. But by French lessons tomorrow, I expect those blazers washed and dried!' Mrs Black moved out of the way and we both ran giggling back to our dorm. 'Lynn, why do you ALWAYS let Fran and Mary-J bother you?' Ivory asked. 'I'm not really one to insult. I'm also not a fighter.' I answered, as we were washing our blazers. 'You need to understand that she's not going to stop, until you stop breathing.' Ivory scowled and started to dry her blazer. 'Well I shall just try and avoid them.' I answered, drying my blazer and folding it. Ivory folded hers and we walked back to the dorm. Ivory quickly changed into her pyjamas, a white tank top and purple cotton shorts. My pyjamas were just a black tank top and white cotton shorts. I tied my hair into a messy bun and brushed my teeth. Ivory lay on her bed. 'Night Ivy.' I smiled, spitting into the porcelain basin in the bathroom in our dorm. 'Night Lynn.' Ivy smiled. I climbed into my bed, And as soon as my head hit the pillow, I fell asleep.
In my dream, I was alone. In the woods. It was dark and it was snowing. I looked around, inspecting my surroundings. I could hear wolf calls in the background. I tried to call out for someone, with no reply. I could hear footsteps approaching me, fast. I panicked, and fell onto the ground, in the recovery position. Five large wolves approached me, and started snarling and growling and tearing at my clothes and my skin. I woke up with a startle, hyperventilating. I cursed under my breath and checked the time. 2:05. In 4 hours and 55 minutes I would have to get dressed and ready for lessons. I lay back again, eyes wide open. I don't know what it was that made me tired, but I fell back in a deep sleep.
