that night lead into morgan sitting in matty's car that she never even noticed he had (probably because she was so fixed on him). his left hand on the wheel, the right on her thigh spinning little circles onto it. morgan's heart was beating so fast her uncle in argentina could probably feel it against his chest. and her fingers, oh her fingers were trembling. no doubt this is what morgan may have dreamt about when she held a one sided staring match with her ceiling every night. the wind against her skin felt so lovely, and everything was perfect.

that was until she turned towards matty and he, well, wasn't him? his face was disappearing and the road began to twist and turn and the hood of the car came up and -

morgan woke up gasping for air, holding her chest like it might cut itself away from the rest of her body. she shut her eyes, using the breathing method her cousin susie taught her when she was younger. slowly opening her eyes she looked to the right and seen matty fast asleep, mouth a little parted and she smiled.

it's funny how the two ended up next to one another in his backyard sprawled on bed comforters that morgan told him not to use but he dismissed her comments and said "i'll just buy new ones or wash these about four times. it'll be fine."

earlier that day, morgan, was sitting on her porch writing pointless things in her journal when matty appeared before her.

"what are you doing minnie?"

"minnie? my name is mor-"

"morgan, yes i'm aware. but, i like minnie. it fits you."

"if you say so matty."

"so?"

"so what?"

"what are you doing?"

"writing," she trailed and he rolled his eyes

"can i see?"

"no."

"why?"

"why are you asking a ton of questions like a child?"

he shrugged his shoulders still trying to sneak a peak of what the marvelous morgan was writing down in the book. he wanted to know what thoughts were constantly on her mind that she had to confirm them on paper.

"let's go out." she got up tugging at his arm.

"where?"

"you'll see."

and that lead them to the woods. not those creepy woods, but the woods with trails, and possibly, maybe, definitely a little house that she and her cousin used to play in long ago.

"is this a little home? are we going to move in here?" matty questioned with a smile pressed onto his face

"shut up. my cousin and i used to come here when we were younger. there's a little path this way that leads to a cool lake." morgans feet moved and she hoped that matty was close behind. a whispered 'fuck' let her know that he wasn't that far back

moments later they stopped at a lake that matty was very interested in. he and adam walked these paths but yet they never found this. it was a waterfall in the back, and the water flowed in the most beautiful manner he'd ever seen. he went to say something to morgan, but, like the other people scattered all around, she was stripping down so she could hop in. he followed suit, going into the water and pulling her close to him.

"this is quite the adventure morgan. is this where you go when you're nowhere to be found?"

"maybe." she shrugged

if you were a bystander looking at the two, you'd think they were together even though they weren't. morgan knew that something would happen between them, and matty felt like she'd stick around long enough for him to breathe a little. forever wasn't in neither of their minds, but life had odd ways of switching up on you, and this might have been the start.

matty was the first to stop their staring montage, swimming towards the waterfall and ducking underneath the water to get behind it. morgan sat on the opposite side wondering how she wanted to get over there

"just go under you weenie." matty shouted

"but my hair," she called back

"oh god, it's just hair. it won't fall out love."

it echoed in her head. love. love. love. love. he called her love.

"you're a guy you don't care about your hair."

"if it gets messed up i'll just pay for you to-" matty stopped mid sentence when he squinted and the curly haired girl was nowhere in sight

he'd tried to play it off, but an alarm immediately went off in his head and an acid like liquid built up in his throat. there were too many people. they were doing too much, and oh heavens what if they took her or what if-

"boo!" matty jumped losing every ounce of breath he had for four seconds exact

spinning around he was met with morgan, hair flat but still curly, smiling in his direction.

"you were talking too much so i just decided to swim around."

"you scared the living shit out of me morgan."

"i'm sorry."

"i thought someone snatched you up," another alarm goes off in his head "i mean, they'd probably bring you back but," he trailed while she pushed water in his direction

they had stayed there for another three hours or so swimming, talking, making little sand castles with some little girl who took a liking to matty. when they arrived to morgan's, matty said she could come over instead of going home, and, how could she pass up the offer? so they went into his house where he leant her some clothes, and got some for himself. they met up five minutes later in the kitchen where he put together some food that wasn't gut wrenching and they moved their two people party out back and now here they were.

"are you alright love?" his muffled voice echoing around them

"yea, yea. i'm fine. can we go inside maybe on the couch?" she asked, he nodded and off they went
