Chapter 1: when everything changed

It was a sunny day, the date was Saturday 8th May. I was at the shopping center and I'd being out all day with my best friends Beth, Laurie, and kirsty, we'd being to the cinema now we just wanted to shop for the sake of shopping. "I wish i had a relationship with my mum like you do yours Storm you're so lucky". What I think does she know my mum and dad, mums over baring, controlling and my dad ha i think i don't even known him. I mean I actually do know who he is, my mum and dad are still together, but my dad put work in front of his family. I see him a hour a day if I'm lucky. "Earth to Storm!" Beth was trying to get me out of my trance. "We're all heading home your mum thinks you're at my house so come on best get back before she sees you've being gone all weekend." We've being to a 21st birthday party in a house i didn't know the girl but didn't stop me going, i knew my mum wouldn't ever let me go so i just didn't tell her...... No crime in that, i didn't tell her, for her not me.

So we all got on the bus home a short journey to Beth's I'd wait for mum to get me from there that way she'd be non no wiser. It came to 8pm no sight of my mum, i was getting tiered and aggravated by her lateness, so i rung her, ready for some stupid excuse but really she forgot. No answer straight to voicemail, not like her at all. "Beth I'm getting the bus she's forgot and she's not answering so can't remind her. " Sleep at mine again if you want hun." Beth offered i appreciated it but wanted my own bed. "Nar tar babe rather just get home, im missing Lady anyway." "Okay said Beth but please let my step dad drive you it's late and cold and dark." Beth said and a shiver ran through her as she described the night. I laughed at her and replied by saying. "No i couldn't do that I'm a big girl and I'm not scared of the dark." seen Beth's face fall so i agreed. I asked her to drive with me i was shy around grown men i didn't know and she knew that.

The drive home was quiet but a comfortable quiet though. There was cop cars outside my house, great i thought she's reported me missing she's forgot i was staying out. Beth gave me a look to say good luck and i told her I'll call her later if i can.

"Mum.... Mum? MUM!" I shouted and sat there was my Dad, what's he doing home? "Where's mum"? I asked that's when a policeman came walking out Mr Whinfrey we've covered everything we need a detective will come tomorrow. " just then the cop noticed me. "thanks can you give me and my daughter sometime alone please." I had to hold back the snort to not say since when did you want time alone with me?!
"Storm sit down there's been an accident."
