Chapter: 2

He was gorgeous. His eyes were bright blue-green like the Caribbean sea. He was tall and lean, but a little buff at the same time. His hair was dirty blond and cut short in the back(but kind of long in the front). I was completely taken by him; I couldn't look away.

"You've got a nice grip." he said laughing. When he said that I realized I was still holding his hand. I let it go quickly with a smile that read sorry.

"It's cool." he said accepting my apology. I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks and I was hoping he couldn't see them getting redder by the second. He pulled a chair next to mine and sat down.

"So, do you know the hostess?"

"Well no, but I hear he's kind of, weird."

"Oh really."

"Yeah, I don't know him but I'm guessing my bestfriend does. I'm hear with her tonight."

"Hmmm ... well sorry for being a weirdo." he said looking at me with a smile.

I just looked at him for a second confused.

"I'm so sorry." I said, realizing he was the hostess.

"It's cool, a lot of people that don't know me say I am, but oh well." He shrugged his shoulders now looking at the crowed of dancing bodies in his house .

"Well you couldn't be that weird to be having a party like this."

"Yeah, I guess, but a lot of these people aren't from around here or school or any thing."

"Oh, okay." When he said that I wondered how he knew Brittany.

"So who did you come here with ... not trying to be rude but, I didn't invite you." he said looking at me with a small smirk. I didn't want to look at him, only because I knew I would get lost in those eyes again and my cheeks would flush with color.

"I came with my friend Brittany, do you know her?" He look at me as if something was wrong.

"What?" I asked confused.

"You, know Brittany?" He asked with a hint of surprise in his voice.

"Yes she's my best friend." I said folding my arms and looking at him, which was hard.

"Wow. That's amazing."

"how?" I asked.

"Brittany: the crazy, wild, fun, sexy, out going girl." He said describing exactly who she is in those few words. But when he called her sexy, I got a little jealous. I hope it didn't show on my face.

"So are you insinuating that I'm none of those things." I said putting my head down, feeling sad; for what, I didn't understand. I didn't know the guy, and he didn't know me.

" That's exactly what I'm doing." He said looking at me. I was broken at that point. I got to my feet and tried to walk away but there was a hand holding on to me. I looked to see Jeremy's hand holding mine.

"What are you doing?" I asked looking at him.

"Sorry, that came out the wrong way."

"So what were you trying to say?" I questioned.

"Well it's not that your not any of those things, I just see you as a, you know, a calm person; quite, sweet, pretty." When he said that I could feel all the blood in my body run right to my cheeks. How could this boy, that I don't even know, have an effect on me like this. There was something seriously going on with me.

"Are you ok?" I shook my head to clear my thoughts.

"Yeah, I'm good, just a little, umm." I stumbled over words trying to find the right ones.

"Can you excuse me?" I pulled away from him, not waiting for his answer, and walked away. What the hell. Is the world coming to an end. I know I've said this about a million times today but, what the fuck is wrong with me. When I stop at a room full of people dancing, I scanned the room to find Brittany grinding on some boy. Sometimes I forget she has a boyfriend; she act like she doesn't. I walked over to her and, at first, she didn't recognize I was there.

"Brittany!" I yelled over the music. She turned to see me and smiled. She stopped dancing with the boy and started to dance on me.

"Hey girl. You having fun!"

"Ummm, no not really!" Before I could even get my whole sentence out, she was facing me with a 'I will kill everybody in this place' type of look.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing, I think I'm just gonna go home." Her face was kind of sad now.

"But I'm not ready to leave yet. We just got here."

"Oh no, you don't have to go. I'll get a cab back."

"Oh no you won't." She said then started pulling me to where I don't know. I wasn't really paying attention to where she was taking me.

"Jeremy!" My eyes widen in surprise. What is she calling him for.

"Yeah!" He answered back in then appeared in front of us. When our eyes met he smiled. I didn't smile back, I just looked down; I hated this feeling that l got when ever he's around. But I loved it too?

"Can you take my friend home? She's not having a good time and we came together, but I'm not ready to go."

"Sure." He said with an even bigger smile.

"Wait, no. He doesn't have to take me. Really, I can take a cab."

"Don't be silly, there's no way I'm letting you take a cab."

Why did my best friend have to be so protective. She's always has and I think she always will.

"Okay. Thanks Jeremy." She gave me a hug and walked back into the crowd of dancing bodies; leaving me with Jeremy.

"Why do I have a feeling you don't like me."

"But I do." I thought to myself.

"Your right. I don't."

"Ouch. That hurt." He said putting his hand over his heart.

"Come on, just take me home." I said looking at the ground. He smiled and headed towards the door with me following.
