Dinner Boy

It's the time of the year again when your school did its annual 'Dinner Boys' fair. Several boys that were voted by the student body are auctioned off and the girl that wins gets a dinner date with the boy she won. It was weird seeing boys from your school get treated like a prize. Especially the nerdy ones no one liked.

As you follow your friends to the auditorium where the auction I going to be held, you see Cole Alan Pendery. He's been your crush since... Forever. But you were nothing more than a friend to him in his eyes. You wanted to bet on him...

"Don't waste your money on Cole. Rumor has it that Elena already called dibs." Your friend, Veronique, warns you. You nod and sigh as the two of you sit down in a seat.

"Hello, girls. It's time to start our Annual Dinner Boys Auction." Mrs. Crenshaw smiles into the microphone. As the boys are being won by girls, you don't pay any attention to the fact that you raised your hand for a boy. You thought she said Cole but she said Colton. Colton was the nerdy kid and he wasn't all that attractive but he wasn't bad.

That explains how you ended up here with Colton. You were too busy daydreaming about Cole you weren't paying attention. Great.

You look around Cracker Barrel and see Elena Thomason with Cole. You sigh and roll your eyes.

"Oh my... Cole Pendery is walking over here..." Colton grabs his inhaler and takes a puff.

"What?" You look at the attractive male figure walking your way and turn yourself back around.

"Jessica." Cole calls your name. You look at him with a scared look on your face.

"What?" You ask.

"Why are you with him?" Cole points to Colton.

"Does it matter?" You respond. "You made it clear you didn't like me."

"Maybe not clear enough. I don't like you, Jessica." At this, you get up but he grabs your wrist.

"I love you." His words were like a symphony you could listen to over and over. You were in pure bliss because these 3 words were all you needed to hear since day one.

"I love you too." You say and smile. Cole stares at you before pulling you into a kiss. This was just the beginning.
