RECAP: "Would anyone like to know Myra Phillent's deep dark secret?"

This is going to be interesting as I leaned back trying to get a better look at him. He thinks he's so smart, well once I reveal the half truth he won't be smirking anymore.

"Myra Phillent is adopted. She is the piece of trash nobody wanted so she had to beg for someone to take her. She's a selfish brat who gets to live the highlife with that quiet bitch, Rayna! She gets everything she asks for and doesn't lift a fingernail for it." He looked at me with a smirk, thinking he had won. He should really learn what he gets himself into before he dishes out his cards.

Rayna and Lucas were both shaking with anger since that had always been a touchy subject with me. "Guys, its ok. I have gotten past it and after this maybe he will leave me alone." I said with a shrug. "Myra, you don't have to do this!" Rayna said looking angry, worried, and concerned. "I'm fine." And with that I casually got up and walked to the stage.

I snatched the microphone from him and spoke,"Would anyone like to know why I was "abandoned"?" The cafeteria buzzed with low murmurs. "Yeah I want to know!" A random kid said. I nodded," Well, when I was ten, my family and I were at the dinner table when a man came in and started screaming at us. Since my mom and I were the farthest from him, we couldn't be seen so my mom pushed me into the sink cupboard and shut it. I heard the man screaming again so I opened the cupboard door a little ways and watched as he murdered my family one by one. My four year old brother, my seven year old sister, my father, and then my mother.

I didn't make a sound and he went away. I was NOT abandoned, my family was taken from me.

I pointed at the dumbstruck Alex and continued," Also, I work three jobs to pay for everything I have. I don't use any of my mother's money and I never have thank you very little. Since Alexander here decided to give a low blow I think I will return the favor. I'm just not going to reveal any secrets. Girls, now that you've seen how low this asshole will stoop, why would you go to him for anything? All he's good for now is literally a quickie since I've also heard he can't hold out for very long." I ended my little speech and walked off the stage.

The nice people in the school have me sympathetic look and have me room while the not so nice kids just glared at me. They probably thought I was making it up. Ha! Well I guess I did lie a little. What I said was only part of the story. They don't know who it was who killed them and they don't know what happened before that or anything in between. Anyways, I grabbed my two besties and dragged them out the door.

We walked in silence while they both gave me side hugs, Luca's arm on my waist and Rayna's arm was around my shoulders. I enjoyed their comfort. I leaned onto Luca and pulled them both toward me. The rest of the day went by like normal along with the sympathy. Ugh. I hate the sympathy. They don't notice me before so I tell them my story and suddenly I'm the poor girl who needs any comfort they want to dish out? No. I have never really depended on someone. It took Rayna and her mom a full year before I spoke to them. It took Lucas a year and a half. We became best friends through everything and we all supported each other through everything. Luca is gay and when I found out I was ecstatic. He thought I was going to reject him as a friend because of it, but who doesn't want a gay buddie??? I met his boyfriend shortly after and loved seeing them together.

Rayna is shy so we were the perfect friends since I didn't talk to anyone for a while. The three of us have been best friends for five years and will remain that way. "Sooooo is anyone up for ice cream?" I said while we were walking home from school. One of the jobs I work at is the local ice cream shop so we get a discount on ice cream. "YES!" They screamed at the same time. I chuckled and started sprinting down the sidewalk. They sprinted with me and we ran together all the way to Kirispy Kone. I put on my apron, announced that I was there and got my friends some icecream. Raspberry chocolate for Rayna and Cinnamon for Luca. They both sat at their booth while they waited for me to finish I got myself some mint chocolate chip and waited for customers.
