A new home. That's how it's always been. Moving from place to place all my life. I have always lived in Russia, going city to city. I've moved without family; an orphan. Nobody wants me. The older I got, the less of a chance I had to be adopted. People would look at me and think I'm an adorable child and then for some reason, unbeknown to me, they would just ship me off to the next person. The older I got the shorter the stays. Nobody wanted me.
Now, it would seem that they lost any potential places to send me off to in Russia. So now I am being sent to a whole new place; a new start- chance at having a family. I will be arriving in America soon as I get off this wretched plane.
Another home, one of many that will come. I'm not 18 yet so they were allowed to send me off only with consent. I'll be 18 soon enough and will officially be on my own. There will be no chance of a family adopting me anytime soon. I hope to finally find a place that I belong here in America.
I only have another hour on this flight until I will finally be in America. The flight isn't that bad but I still won't ever like planes. I was told that was how my parents died. I never believed that though. Nonetheless, I still don't trust planes.
I looked around once again. The cushiony seats formed to my back. I can never fall asleep with with so many people around. No matter how tired I am.
I continued to look around. The women beside me was wearing what was probably an expensive business suit with a laptop in her lap typing away. Past her I could see a man looking at me. I narrowed my eyes. Why would he be looking at me, I'm nothing much to look at? My hair was a dark brown, almost black looking. It fell to the middle of my back in long waves. My eyes are an icy blue. The look he was giving me sent shivers down my spine, in a bad way. He smiled at my, a creepy smile that unsettled my stomach. Then something come over me, an unknown emotion that scared me as I looked at that man. I didn't what it was but I felt almost hungry. Not in the sense that I wanted food but wanted to attack somebody. As I looked at that man his smile dimished replaced with a frightened look and turned his head away from me. The unknown feeling left.
Whatever it was, I don't want to particularly feel it again. Soon after, although not soon enough, the flight attendant came on to announce our arrival.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, please fasten your seat belts. We will be arriving at JFK International momentarily. We hope you had a pleasant flight and wish you a good day." The flight attendant then went to take her seat.
As the plane descended, always my least favorite part of the flight, I pondered what my new home would be like. Would I finally find my home here? Will I make friends, have a family? I won't know until the time comes.
The plane landed without a hitch and I grabbed my carry on and hastily got off the plane. I really wanted to get out of this place. A steward smiled at me and took my hand without asking me. His smile making shivers crawl down my spine like the creepy man from the plane.
I pulled my hand out of his grasp and walked away to the baggage claim. I stood there for a moment until I saw my plain black suitcase. Before I could get a hold of it another hand took it and set it on the ground at my feet. I looked up to see the same man from the plane giving me the same creepy smile. He set his hand on my shoulder and walked off. But not before running his had down my arm. Creepy ass pedo.
I took my suitcase and lugged it behind me looking for my ride. Everywhere I looked I saw people and more people. There were people in flashy clothes and expensive suits. There was someone who looked suspiciously like Charlie Sheen, with two girls hanging off his arms...
There were many shops and fast food joints making it had to choose a place. Of course besides that it looked like any other airport.
I turned my head and saw a sign with the name "Aitken" on a small paper. I walked up to the women holding it. She had light brown hair that was slightly graying. A round face with a small nose and warm brown eyes. She looked like a very kind women.
"Nika?" she asked taking me in. I just nodded my head. She smiled at me and gestured for me to follow her. I did so leaving the airport behind me.
She walked me out to a shiny BMW that was still idling. She took my bags and put them in the trunk. I moved to sit in the passenger seat. She climbed in behind the wheel and looked at me.
"I'm sorry. I didn't tell you my name. I am Michelle and I'm your new social worker."
"Nice to meet you. I'm Nika." She smiled at me and nodded.
"Well Nika I am going to be taking you to your new home and hopefully you'll find it pleasant." That was what I hoped too. I wanted to find a place where I belonged and was happy. I wanted to not have to move from place to place for the rest of my life never belonging. That may sound dramatic but that's how I have always felt; lost.
"I hope I do too. I don't want to move around anymore." We stopped at a red light so she was able o turn and look at me.
"Oh honey, you'll find your place one day. Don't you worry." She gave me a pitying look. I hated that look.
When the light turned green she put her foot down and drove.
"So where are we going?" I was curious of course. I was kind of hoping I wouldn't be living in New York City. I have nothing against it but I'm not too found of living in the city.
"From here we will drive. We decided to just put you on the a plane to JFK and just drive you the rest of the way. Seemed easy enough. We are going to a small town right outside New York. The drive shouldn't be too very long now. You can just nap and I'll wake you when we get there."
With those words out, I realized just how tired I am.
"That's right, sweetie. You can just nap now. We will be there soon."
I feel asleep to the purr of the car, the soft sound of the radio, and Michelle's gentle humming.

I jolted awake when I felt the car come to a stop. I looked around to see myself lying down in the passenger seat of the car with a jacket thrown over me. I sat up and looked around to see Michelle seated beside me looking over at me.
"We are here, Nika. I hope you find this home nice. I tried to look myself for a suitable place for you to live." She looked at me expectantly.
"I will try my best to make it work. I will only have to stay until I turn 18 anyway."
"I guess you could do that, as long as you make sure you go to school." She smirked a me. I knew I would have to go to school. I just wished it wasn't so soon.
"I know and I will make sure I go to school. I will graduate." She looked at me with pride. Happy to see I am going to finish my education.
"That's good. Now, seeing as how it is a bit later, I can show you around and help you get settled. Sound good?" I nodded and smiled at her. I was lucky she was so kind.
"Well then, let's get going and I will show you where you will be living."
We climbed out of the car and grabbed my bags from the trunk. When I turned around I couldn't believe my eyes.

Okay so new story. Can't write much more for the other. It's about well, an orphan but there's more that meets the eye. Sorry for any mistakes, didn't do much proof reading.
