The sun doesn't shine the same anymore
The reflections of the pool of life are fading
The feeling of warmth now disintegrating
My words are less spoken
My thoughts faster and faster
The afternoon sun is just dawning on us

Run down the field
Faster
Pass the ball
once
again
And again
And again

We played all the same games
But the we weren't all the same
We were short and tall
But most important of all
We played differently
Everything we worked for payed off
We won our first game
We lost all the rest
We were just a hot mess

That one day
That one day was all the same
We ran through our drills
We warmed up like normal
And we had fun

Then it happened

She walked up to me and said " I'm sorry"
Lies rolled out of her mouth like the ocean
Slowly, it felt as if a bomb was ticking
She grabbed her stick and shoved it between my legs
That powerful grip took both sides
And yanked up
The pain I felt that day, I will never forget
I have been hurt
The tears rushing down my face
I cried a river

My coach, so oblivious to the surroundings
What's wrong?
The anger boiling inside of me bursts
The explenations were hard
How could I tell someone my pain
How could I tell of my misfortune

I left
Far away from the hurt
I rode far away HOME
crying
Just feeling the wet sob
Rushing down my face
I couldn't stop

A piece of me now gone
A little chunk taken away
A little heart throb stolen
My melody now broken and choppy
Where do I go now?
