Once upon a time, on a new moon night or as we all know the Amavasya, a man decided to go back to his village.
His name was Raj. He had left this place when he was a young teenager but now he had grown quite old. He always said 3 words 'Jai allah kari' whenever he met a person. As he was going back, he had taken lift from a truck going towards his village. After an hour, he said good bye to the driver and started walking towards his old house.

That night he was quite happy as he was returning to his village. All the memories flooded back to him.
He used to live with his parents near the meadows. His father was a small worker and his mother was a housekeeper. They weren't rich but were happy and fullfilled their basic necessities.
At the age of 5, his mother died due to an illness. So it was only the two of them: his father and him.

After 3 years, a new person called  Mr Thakur had come to live in the village. He had a daughter named Rani, she too was of the same age as Raj. Every afternoon, they used to go to the meadows. She used to get her sheeps and raj would just accompany her.
Slowly their friendship increased and soon they both became lovers. These teens used to enjoy their visits to the fields. They used to eagerly wait for their afternoons.
Years passed Raj's father also died. Raj used to make flowers for the pandits. Then one day Rani came to raj and told him that she was pregnant. Raj was scared to his wits because soon her father will know the truth. He was the head of the village, a very grumpy man. However he assured rani that he will come up with something.
That day raj decided that the very same night he shall run away. But unfortunately the same evening he got an order for the next days function . He had an idea he spread all the flowers on the bed and then ran away from the back door. He left the village and never returned since.

The next day, early morning when the pandit came to collect the order of bouquet he saw that the house was empty and flowers were spread on the bed. The pandit assumed that the boy was blessed by god.

So he went and told all the villagers what he saw and they too believed him. However rani was too depressed upon her loved one and hanged herself.
The villagers decided to build a a temple in the boys name to give him respect.

Now only few old people lived in the village and another generation lived there. The people still hadn't forgotten about the blessed boy.

Raj came back from his past thoughts and found that he had reached his village. There was the old temple the pandits and all. But instead of his house there was a temple.  Now that was strange he wondered.
Still astonished he saw a bonfire and some villagers were siting he greeted them in his old style by saying Jay allah kari .. no one noticed so he thought may be they didnt recognise him. Among them was rani's father and soon rani too came from inside. He was glad to see her.
He was just about to sleep when suddenly all the villagers stood up and started circling him and were laughing at him. He got confused and freaked out. Then Rani's father said "You think we all are fools here, we wouldn't recognise you. We all know you and what you have done.
All the people around him were actually ghosts. As it was Amavasya all had descended down on earth. Together they all burned him in the fire and that was the end of him.

The very next day when a pandit opened the temple doors the one built for the blessed boy he was shocked to see a that there was a burned body inside. Soon all the villagers gathered to see. They didnt know whose it was but actually it was Raj 's body himself...
Everybody has to pay for their sins.
