Trailing her usual path along the downtown streets, liv joyfully skipped to the beat of her blaring headphones. Her days had become overtaken with work, so most nights she would walk along the waterfront awaiting the next day in the cycle. Not many people in town knew about liv, she was from out of town, didn't do much during the day but work and just roamed the streets during the nights. Her long auburn hair  lay down behind her ears, green eyes the colour of emeralds hid secrets that most would never know. Her apartment building was the biggest in town and she lived close to the top, alone with nothing but her cat, pebbles. As she continued along the waterfront she stopped and sat along the rocks and just watched the waves for a while. When she finally got up she decided to walk into town not from from the seawall. As she skipped down the road not many cars past so she decided to walk along the median. When she got to the only open restaurant in town she got herself a tea and sat in for a while contently listening to her music and drinking her tea. When he walked in she wasn't paying much attention but he caught her eye. He hair pulled up tight, the trend of the days but his was different it was messy and long like it had been in the bun for weeks. Pieces of hair stuck out and some of it lay to the side of his head. He ordered and the server and him talked. She listened to a bit of what was said, "the usual." the boy announced pulling out his wallet. "This ones on us today." He thanked them and left. Her curiosity overtook her and so she left as well. When she walked out the door she looked left and right but did not see him. So she opened the pocket of her jean jacket and pulled out a cigarette and just stood outside smoking it. A while later the boy appeared from beside the building and walked off. She decided to follow. The boy walked fast and it was hard for her to keep up without seeming odd so she kept her distance and skipped along as if she wasn't following the mysterious boy. Finally she wound up in front of a hotel, was he from out of town? She thought. But as she followed him up the stairs, thinking to herself "does he know I'm here?" And then noticing the headphones in his ears decided he didn't. Finally after all the stairs he left out the roof exit, which clearly stated no trespassing. The joy of doing something that wasn't allowed made her like this boy even more. So she exited a few minutes after him. When she got to the roof she looked around but did not see him. How does he do this? Liv thought to herself. At that moment music started playing quietly. She listened to where it came from but it sounded as if it was all around her. She decided it did not matter and that she would just look around the roof. It wasn't a big roof but it had a lot of nooks so she walked to the corner and made her way around. Right when she thought she should give up and that it had been a stupid idea in the first place. That's when she heard the spark of a lighter and the inhale of what she thought was a cigarette. She didn't know many smokers so she became attuned to the sound. That's when she saw him. His brown eyes lay looking directly at her.
