Chapter 7-

"Beep... Beep... Beep..." The machine went. It was Lauren's machine that kept beating.

"Beep... Beep... Beeeee...." Went Stevens machine. The hospital room was white and plain. As plain as everyone's brain. It seemed dark which fit the emotions of the day.

"What is that light? It's so bright" Steven mumbled to himself "am I dead? I can't be dead!" He yelled. Nobody could hear him, nobody could see him, he was trapped in his own purgatory.

"Lauren!" Steven called out time and time again. Lauren would never respond. "Someone! Help!"

"Son" Steven looked everywhere when he heard that

"Dad? Where am I?" Steven questioned as his dad smiled at him.

"You're in heaven with me"

"Heaven? So I'm dead?"

"Yea, well not completely, you can go back if you want. You have two choices"

"And those are?"

"Stay with me in heaven or go back and stay with Lauren. Lauren needs you. You and Lauren are meant to be together"

"I'm sorry dad, but I chose Lauren"

"It's fine son. I'll see you when it's your time"

"CLEAR!!" Yelled the doctor as he sent a shock into Stevens chest. Melissa cried into Normans chest. Steven was instantly taken back to earth and life as he felt the shocks. He wasn't completely Alive yet though.

"He's dead isn't he? ISNT HE!?" Melissa yelled as she punched the wall then cried into Norman's chest. Norman held her as he watched Steven's basically lifeless body flop unresponsively.

Lauren awoke during the 5th shock. She turned and saw Steven's body flopping after every shock

"1...2...3.... Clear!" A sixth shock and Lauren broke down crying.

"STEVEN!!!!" Lauren screamed as she cried harder. She couldn't lose the love of her life, she just couldn't. Just as she screamed his heart beat went back to normal. He came back when he heard her scream. It was then that he knew she needed him just as much as he needed her.

"He's alive. Barely but he's alive. You have one tough fighter" the doctor said and Lauren quickly got up and cuddled into Steve's side, clearly not going to leave him anytime soon.

"Ms. Cohan. I'm sorry but we're going to need to prep Mr. Yeun for surgery. That statement rang inside of Lauren's ears. She didn't fully understand the extent of the need for surgery until it happened....

"Beeeeeee......" The machine went as the line went flat.

"STEVEN!!!!!!" Lauren screamed as she cried her eyes out. She watched the love of her life get shocked yet again. Would he make it back? Or would he die in surgery?

"No! I can't go yet!" Steven yelled as he fought to stay in his body. He kept fighting but knew he would have to wait until after the surgery. He also knew that Lauren would keep fighting for him until the end. He had that trust, faith, and belief in her.

He needed to tell her he loves her, he needed to break up with his girlfriend. God, his girlfriend. He knew she wasn't there. He knew they have had their ups and downs, but wouldn't she have still Come? She wasn't there for him and Lauren was. Well, Lauren was also in the hospital with him, but he still heard her scream his name and that was enough. That was enough to tell him she was there for him. Now, he just needs to fight to stay with her.
