Chase's head whips around. A demon that stands at least seven feet tall is behind us. It starts to dash forward.

Chase puts his hand out in front of him and a glimmering shield protects us. The demon can't get past it so he must be pretty powerful. He then extends his hand and the shield goes around the demon. "Lacey I need a weapon!"

Lacey rushes to pull out a sword from the infinity pack. When she finds it she tosses it to Chase. He catches it perfectly. He releases his hand and then the shield is no longer there restraining the demon. The demon yells and dashes toward us again. I scream but Chase pushes me behind him.

Since the demon is huge, he slices at the leg where the knee bends. Quickly he pulls me out to the side and Chase goes behind the demon. He jumps up and stabs it in the back and the sword goes through its chess. My eyes widen as I slowly see the demon dying. It falls to the ground and seconds later disappears back to where it came from, Hell where Lilith is.

I'm too shocked to move. I just blankly stare at where the demon was just seconds ago. This is the first time in all sixteen years of my life that I've seen a demon get killed. The wind blows my hair widely around my face.

"This can't be your first time seeing a demon, right?" Lacey says coming up next to Chase.

I keep staring down at the floor where the demon was. "No," I pause before continuing. "But my first on seeing one killed."

"Well you were protected by borders your whole life," Chase says while putting the sword back in the infinity pack. "I'm going in after I put out the fire."

Lacey nods then starts to head inside the tent. "Bree you coming?"

"Yeah hold on," I reply. Lacey shrugs and heads inside.

After a moment I walk over to Chase. "Thank you for saving my life... Again," I remember back when we fell into the water. I probably would've drowned or died of poison if it weren't for him.

He laughs lightly. "Yeah of course," he starts to dump some water from a bottle onto the fire.

"Why do you have to put the fire out?" I ask. "It adds heat.

"Because then demons will know we're here, even if we have a Shaded tent," he starts to add soil to really put out the fire. "And besides, I'm sure there's a heater in the tent.

"Oh," I pause before continuing. "Chase, can I ask you something?" I ask looking at him as he finishes the last touches of putting the fire out.

"Yeah go ahead," he stands up and looks at me. His features are outlined in the moon light.

"Where did you come from? Like before you came to the Forgotten?"

"I was born in Forgotten Territory. But it wasn't from the one where we were in, it was the one closest to the Broken," he answers.

"Oh...why'd you move Territories?"

"I don't really know. I was a baby when I switched."

"So you've never really left that place?"

"I've left once when I was seven."

"Did you visit Colina when you left?"

He smiles a little. "No, I visited the Broken."
