Rosie Shapiro is new to her high school in Indiana. No, she doesn't really like it. But she does love her new house. And even better, there's a secret entrance in her bedroom that literally leads her to a whole other world. Nothing in that world is bad or negative. Rosie loves how loving the people are, and how unique their lifestyle is. She later learns that these people are from all over the world. People who have found these portals in the real world, just like Rosie. But how come they never return home from time to time? What made them live there forever? As time goes on and things are revealed, Rosie realizes she can't visit temporarily anymore. She either has to stay in her world, or join theirs.
