|| Hanami's POV ||

Slowly, I moved his hands away from me.

There's probably two more hours before sunrise. Rubbing my puffy eyes, I looked up at the, now bare, sky with a moment of despair.

What am I suppose to do now?

Train and become stronger.

Then what?

What if he won't come back for me?

What if he forgets about me...?

With meaningless doubts swirling in my head, I pulled my knees up to my chest as I laid my head down.

Watching Shika's chest rise and fall ever so calmly made my lips curved into a small smile.

"Thanks Shika..."

I caress his cheeks gently, not wanting to wake him up.

"I'm sorry for what I may do in the future though...even I am not sure what my mind is capable of."

A soft chuckle escaped my pale lips, and I stood up giving him one last look before leaving.

Hime-sama...

I'm fine Mel, just go and sleep.

If you're fine, then why are you here?

Without knowing, my feet brought me back to my, now in ruins, hometown.

Doing a quick hand seal while biting my thumb, I was transported in. The place was scattered with bones and debris of the aftermath.

Walking down the familiar road, I could feel a lump stuck in my throat. It was suffocating, remembering how lively the street used to be, how I would watch the kids play happily from my tiny window from my room. I envied them, and I wished for freedom. Yet, on my tenth birthday, when I was finally given the chance to be free, I was shoved into solitude again.

Why?

What did I do in my previous life to deserve this?

Hime-sama...my father, the angel within your father, told me to pass you a message if you ever came back.

I stopped by the front of my house, the only building that could barely stood with the help of a huge Sakura tree beside it. The tree was my mother's favorite. She raised it when it was only a seed, and I'm glad that it survived the wreak.

I place my palm on it, a feeling of nostalgia washed over me like waves of the ocean.

There's a small box hidden at your parent's room. It's the third tatami mat from the right.

It wasn't a long walk from the front door to my parent's room. As I slide the door open, it was strangely in one piece.

Oto-san must have sealed it away.

I walked over to the third tatami mat and brushed my fingers across it, waiting to find a small opening. Upon finding it, I yanked it up and found a beautifully decorated box my mother used to show it to me when I was six.

"Hana, when the time comes, you'll have to accept it wholeheartedly okay?"
She would cup my cheeks with both her hands affectionately and rub her nose to mine. Her dazzling smile always fill my heart with warmth.

Picking the box up carefully, I leaned against the wooden wall while staring at it.

My fingers fiddled with the lock that had a cherry blossom imprinted in the center.
