Once in a Blue Moon

Prologue

The starry night reflected of the still mirror like lake. The pine trees rustled in the cool, calm breeze. Then, a silver tabby walked up. Her fur so shiny it seemed as though it was a mirror too. The light from the moon bounced of the cats fur, and made her gleam. She pawed the mirror below her, and lapped at the cold, sharp water. A bird called in the distance its eery screeched pierced your soul. It could be seen circling over head; it's sharp eyes spotting its prey. It dove down with a quick jerk of its wings. The cat, startled, ran with great speed, but not enough. The bird opened its wings and stuck it's razor like claws out readying to catch it prey. It swooped and the gray tabby was lifted off her paws. She clawed the ground frantically searching to grab on something, yet there was nothing. She sighed and up she went. She closed her eyes think this was the end. Suddenly, she felt a great heave and she was falling. She looked down a white wolf, no dog, was beneath her. The bird lay limp next to it. She knew this was it; no cat has ever survived a dog attack. The dog leaped up and snatched her out of the air gently. She was in its grasp and was panicking. She preferred the bird over the dog. Next, the dog set her down on the ground. She looked up into its hazel eyes, " Please show mercy on me." It spoke back to her surprise, " I never planned on harming you. I was saving you and getting us dinner in the meantime." The dogs had a soft and soothing voice. The voice was female, but motherly. Yet, something made her confused the word us it's said getting dinner for us. She meowed back, " Dinner. For..... us?" The dog nodded, " Yes, your going to want to come with me. It's a long trek, but we could make it in three or four days. I'm Sugar, by the way." The cat looked up into those hazel eyes. They seemed so welcoming she couldn't refuse, " Fine. But can we eat. I'm starving. Oh, I'm Emma."

Sorfry for short prologue but it's very informative. Or will be later! ;)
