Morning delights
( inhale)
It was a tremendously gorgeous Saturday morning, and the first day of summer vacation. I was awaken by the displeasing ringing of my alarm clock.
As I rolled over to slam the off button I begin to open my eyes, as I do I can already see the warm golden light of the sun. It was vigorously shining over the huge mountains, which were covered with a rug of trees of a different variety of colors. The morning birds that tweeted sweet, loving sounds outside my window.
For the first time in a long time I was enjoying the early morning. "Here we go." I softly whisper to myself, just as I unroll myself from my cozy blankets. I manage to sit up on my bed, lifting my head up to the ceiling, and letting a deep breath out.
"Honey your breakfast is getting cold!" My mother frantically shouts out.
" okay mommy give me a minute." I walk over to my drawer and open up my jar, closing my eyes and mixing my hands swiftly inside. I pick out a quote and read it to myself aloud while walking down the stairs.
***
"I hope you find a rainbow, and realize it was worth the rain. I hope that through your journey, you'll learn to balance smiles with pain, and pain with smiles. "*Door bell rings *
"Mia can you get the door." My mom says as I finally jump down the last stair.
I peek through the peep hole in curiosity, and I didn't see anyone standing at the door. I opened the door and looked around for a few seconds as I was closing the door I noticed a box. I knew it was mine by the packaging. It was pretty wide and it marked "simple is better, " with white in the background and some pink sparkles. It was supposed to be for my mommy's birthday dinner, I picked it up and opened it at the kitchen counter. It was a gorgeous red sparkly long body fitted dress, which happened to get to me late, but it was just way to beautiful to not keep.
"Ohhhh--Mia I totally ate your breakfast, and I'm not sorry either. "
"God Chris! What the hell, your sooo annoying "
I grab a yogurt and go to my room to get an outfit ready, I was planning to go to the library but that's when Jenna called me up. To be quite honest I was a little scared to answer, she comes up with the most craziest ideas ever yet I always tag along. That's probably why we're still best friends.
*flashback *"Jenna if we die I want you to know your a fuckin potato and I really hate you." I was stripping my clothes off getting ready to jump into the pool of which was the house we broke into.
"Heyy chill, since when are my ideas ever bad, the night is still alive, we're drunk and young. Now let's do this!!! "
As we jumped in the pool holding hands I felt a sudden rush, it was probably because the owner had came outside to see where all the ruckus was coming from. It felt like we we're holding our breath forever. As soon as the lights went out we ran with our clothes fast as hell.
The weird thing was as we jumped in the pool the world kinda just---stopped, and it felt like nothing existed, just Jenna and I. It was moments like that where I was proud to have Jenna as a friend, she was a loon but that's what I loved about her.
*back to reality *
"HELLO!! Mia are you there?" She screams through the phone. Making me feel like I've gone deaf on the right side of my ear.
I laugh in the fact that she was probably trying to get my attention for a while. "sorry I was kinda having a flash back, but I'm good now--- so what's up? "
" wellllll..." she says but pauses before she continues. " I was gonna ask you to get turnt with me at the club, and I know your not much of a party girl but...... pleasseee.! "
As much as I wanted to say no, I needed some time to get my mind off of some heavy stuff. So being the clueless 17 year old that I am, I told her I would go with her.
