John could hear strange noises even more as he went deeper into the mine. What in the world was he getting into? He asked himself. He was always full of confidence, but the strange noises that had started with the lights dimming kept this confidence from growing. The path he was on turned left and then quickly right again and he could hear Lia and Sunny.
"Hello! Hello! Can you hear me team!" He spoke loudly.
"Sunny come in." He spoke in his transceiver.
"We can hear you." Sunny replied calmly over his transceiver.
"Our paths are close now."
John felt a drip coming from the top of the mine cavern onto his padded shoulder. He looked up faintly and noticed a huge hole stemming through the ceiling of the mine. His face crunched as he thought of what it could be. He stopped in motion and the drips continued. His padding on his suit started to sizzle and almost melt.
"That's Soliton, some of the strongest material we have...How is it melting?" He was referring to his shoulder pads on his suit.
He walked up a bit further and then stopped again to examine the dripping further. The hole seemed to be completely torn and almost expanding. The dripping continued and he noticed the path way was also melting slowly but surely creating another hole on the bottom.
"We've got a problem over here." John spoke over his transceiver in a whisper.
"So do we!" Sunny spoke over the transceiver. You could hear Lia's voice and a sudden scream like that of a loud squeal. John hesitated and then went further down the way.
"What's going on? Repeat what's going on over there?" John spoke through his transceiver and then shouted. "Hello! Hello!" He was still unafraid but could tell in Lia's voice something bad was happening. He ran down the pathway again, until he came to an opening. On the other-side of where he had come out from he could see the end of the other path.
He turned back down that path to try to meet up with Lia and Sunny. He could hear feet bolting down the rugged dirt path coming his way. He saw Lia and Sunny running up towards him with their faces almost peeled back. "Turn around!" Sunny yelled at John running towards him.
John pulled out his weapon and the squealing noise got louder. Sunny and Lia caught up to him and ran passed him. "Come on John!" Lia called and grabbed his suit. John couldn't really see into the darkness that was now pervading most of the path, all he could see was movement and the small torch lights streaming in the darkness. More movements could be heard and seen and he was trying to eye up the situation. Out of nowhere almost John could see the Garba lift up and tunnel through towards him. He shot some pistol bolts into its head then ran towards Lia and Sunny who were now a couple feet away.
"John we got to move!" Sunny spoke up.
"Opening a couple feet ahead!" John was now caught up to Sunny and Lia, he tilted his head to try to see where the Garba was in all this darkness, but could only see the electric blue lanterns shattering against the mine.
They came to the opening and kept running as fast as they could. The noises behind them seemed to suddenly stop and all the ruckus of the cave stopped as well.
"Wow, in way to deep." Sunny eye's twitched effortlessly.
"How about it...John? What the..." Lia seemed unamused that the team had received this mission.
