it was dark and the boys had taken bella inside my house , nick had sat at the edge of the beach for a few hours before he went inside ,i had been watching them for a long time now something in my head told me not to go near the shore in case I was spotted ,i couldn't let anyone see me like this.
I sighed and thought it was time I headed to shore before I was captured again, I dove under the water and swam towards the shore ,i was there in a matter of seconds and I pulled myself onto the sand ,flapping around like a beached whale ,trying to breathe I panicked when the dehydrated feeling took over again and I spluttered as I began breathing air ,at first it was too thin and I took in short and fast breaths then it grew thicker and I felt exhausted ,i rolled on my back ,noticing my tail felt lighter and I fell asleep ...
'perri ,oh my god ,perri 'I heard a familiar voice 'is she dead' I heard another worried voice I looked up to see nick and bella standing over me ,nick bent down 'im so sorry perri ' he picked me up bridal style and carried me towards my house I noticed I had legs once more ,he took me upstairs and gently placed me on the bed ,he stood at my side examining my body I felt him dab my head and a stinging feeling ,awoke my senses I screamed 'what the hell was that ?' I yelled 'calm down perri ,you have cuts all over you ' I noticed tane was holding me down as he spoke ,i looked past him and saw bella sobbing in adrians arms ,and tyler standing by the door ,a dark expression on his face ,after what seemed like hours of nick dabbing some toxic shit over my body tyler piped up 'can I talk to her....alone' bella walked over to me grabbing my hand she smiled at me before following Adrian and tane down stairs ,tyler and nick glared at each other for a few seconds before nick let go of my hand ,that I didnt realise he was holding ,and he made his way downstairs towards the others,silence lingered in the room before tyler sat beside me on the bed ,he faced away from me 'what happened' he said in a dark tone ..
'I..i don't know ' I couldn't tell him.oh yeah well I was captured by sirens but don't worry I got away,really fast because im actually half fish 'I just lost control ' I said trying to sound confused .
'perri you were in the water for over six hours ,you should be dead ' he replied still staring at my bedroom wall 'I found some rocks and I fell asleep' I blatantly lied 'how did you get to the shore?' he asked again with that dark tone 'when I woke up I swam back' I replied as if it was obvious ,he rubbed his forehead and spun around ,he leant over me staring directly into my eyes .
'now will you tell me what really happened' he asked 'I told you ' I replied defensively sitting up as I spoke there was a short silence before tyler pushed himself back into a standing position he walked towards the door and opened it 'Liar' he said as he closed the door ,i listened to his retreating footsteps, a second later I heard smaller faster ones and the door burst open 'perri ' she half laughed half cried as she came over and hugged my tightly 'I was so worried ,nick feels so bad 'she sobbed 'why does nick feel bad ? I lost control ,not him' I asked 'I don't know ,im so glad your ok' she hugged me tightly again and stood up 'you coming down 'she smiled 'yeah' I hopped off the bed and opened the door ,i heard the muffled voices of the guys downstairs I turned and held my finger to my lips ,bella nodded as she wiped the tears from her eyes ,i listened intently
'I don't know ,she's lying ,either that or she's not telling the whole story ' I heard Tyler say ,i felt a pang of anger ,although he was completely right ,i was about to stomp downstairs and give him a piece of my mind when I heard Adrian 'what if she's not,is it that hard to believe that she had a simple accident ,I mean the jet skis are old' he was waving his hands toward the jet skis that someone had pulled in clear view from the window 'I can sense it ' Tyler replied as he glared at Adrian 'your senses are weak you haven't gone in water since..' he stopped .what? Senses what the hell are they talking about ...since what? 'I don't want to risk it ,i have a higher chance of exposing us ' Tyler replied aggressively ,he was cut off when tane cleared his throat loudly ,he looked up at me and the others looked at him,i realised he had seen me ,i gasped silently and crawled back into my room pushing bella in as well I lunged for the bed and tried to look as natural as possible ,she stared at me confused 'what happened out there ?' she asked 'I got caught eavesdropping ' I replied in a whisper ,she moved towards me 'no,i mean in the water ' she replied , I looked at her confused 'I..i told you ,i had an accident ,then I found some rocks and fell asleep ,when I woke up I swam to the shore' it almost sounded like the truth I had gone over it so many times in my head it felt natural ,
'perri please tell me ,were best friends right ,you can tell me anything' she was edging towards me with a look of trust and sadness,she continued edging forward eager to know ,I bit my lower lip,i felt something rise from deep within me and before I could do anything I had bellas eyes held in a mesmerised gaze I let out a low snarl I began to rise to my knees 'if I told you what happened to me ,you would not believe me, if I told you what I am ,i would have to kill you 'i was now looking down at her, I hadn't noticed the boys enter the room ,i heard Adrian gasp and pull bella away protectively ,the connection broke but the feeling was still there ,i felt a burning sensation across my chest,but it was faint ,then I heard it ,that sound ,so familiar but so different ,the sound ... ,rang in my ears ...the horrible screeching ,i knew what it was .......they wanted me back .
