Rain slammed down on the concrete around me. The smell of flowers and Earth filled my nose, it was a pleasant change from the thick, hot, exhaust filled air of L.A. I felt water leak through my hair and run down my neck, creeping into my sweater.
I turned the block corner, my tour bus spilling into sight. As a general rule of thumb I enjoyed the rain, but my attire was far from suiting the weather. I skidded to a stop infront of the bus door. I swung it open, the smell of Marijuana, sweat and booze hit me in the face. I immediately felt myself longing for the freshness of outside.
I slammed the door shut behind me. The bus was startlingly quiet, the usual yelling, music and laughter replaced with silence.
"They're probably out partying" i mumbled to myself, kicking off my muddy shoes.
I flopped down onto the couch, the wet fabric from my shirt and jacket clinging to my skin. I pulled off my shirt and jacket, flinging them onto the ground beside the couch. My eyes began to feel fatigued, eventually they were forced to shut.
Just as i began to drift off a familiar voice roused me from my slumber.
"Hey Danny boy, didn't know you were back"
I managed to peel my eyes open long enough to see jorel looming above me.
"Oh hi" I yawned still half asleep.
I watched Jay rock back and forth on the balls of his feet before saying "I'm gonna watch a movie, so if you could just scootch over a little bit that would be awesome"
I let out a sigh before heaving myself up into a sitting position. I slumped forwards, resting my head in my hands and rubbing my eyes. I felt jorel plop down beside me.
I turned my head to look at him.
"I thought you were out partying?" I questioned in a sleepy voice.
Jay shook his head "no, I planned on staying on the bus and chilling by myself, but here you are" he said with a little smirk, setting his beer down on the coffee table.
I heaved myself off the couch and turned to face him. I couldn't help but notice the way his eyes flickered from mine, down to my torso, and back up again.
"Well you can pretend I'm not even here, Ima head to bed" I said sleepily.
Jay smiled and gave me a nod before I turned away and made my way to my bunk.
