chapter four

a/n before starting, I just wanted to give a shoutout to  for adding this to her library! Honestly I never thought in a million years that someone would read this let alone add it to their library.

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled chapter

chapter four

I wake with a start. I look at my unfamiliar surroundings and the memories of last night come flooding back to me. As I start to remember that Angel was here, my eyes start to water. I suddenly hear a loud thud, pulling me out of my thoughts. I swim over to see where the sound came from and find Sirena, sleeping like a log on the floor. I remember she fell asleep on her bed, she must've been moving in her sleep.

As I go to check if she is okay, I find that she has not woken up. After she fell, she just kept sleeping. I suddenly burst into laughter as she starts to wake "What? What's so funny?" she asks, still half asleep. 

I was about to answer her when I start to laugh again. She then glares at me as she figures out that she's on the floor, but then ends up joining me as we both laugh until our stomachs hurt. Apparently our laughter is enough to wake Aquata "SHUT UP" she screams, leaving us both speechless. Mostly because she screamed for the first time since we had met her. "Wow, she actually yelled at us" said Sirena.

"Sorry" Aquata's voice had gone back to just a mere whisper. "No, no don't lower your voice," I began "we like it when you speak and not whisper" "Okay" said Aquata in a regular tone.

Sirena started to clap and praise Aquata and she blushed "Guys, it's not a big deal" said Aquata, again, nit whispering. "Of course it's a big deal!" I countered, beaming "You not whispering means we are officially your friends" I said, smiling. I then opened my arms and embraced both Sirena and Aquata in a hug.

This moment that we had was cut short by an abrupt "ahem" coming from the doorway "I hate to interupt ladies" said the blonde Council member, who didn't look like she was very sorry "but Icame to escort you girls to your final meeting and sendoff" 

Sendoff?! Sendoff to where?! In my heart I knew that the sendoff was to land but still, this was crazy! How can you expect us to be okay being sent off after just ONE day. "But, what about our families?" I asked, anxious. "They will be dealt with accordingly" replied the Council member "Now, follow me" she said as she turned and started swimming to the set of doors I had walked in and out of just yesterday. Inside, the Council was waiting for us. This time with chairs for Sirena, Aquata and I to sit in. The Council motioned for us to sit and as we did, the Council member with the fiery red hair tucked in a tight bun started to speak "As you already know you are the golden three, this fact is stated in the prophecy that we introduced to you. It also stated that you are destined to be sent to land until all of Merr-kind is safe again. Now, we don't exactly know who or what is the great danger, but we do know of  a boy. It is said that he has great power in land, but there are rumors he has... powers"

"Powers?" asked Sirena. "But powers only run in Merrs, and even then, the probability that a Merr does have powers is very low." 

"It is also rumored that he has a.. tail" added the blonde Council member with caution. "A TAIL?!" all three of us said in unison, Sirena standing and Aquata and I swimming circles around the table "How could he have a tail if he's a land boy?!" I added to the aready pool of questions being thrown at the Council by us. " Settle down girls" said the red hairde Council member " We know this is a lot to take in, us as a Council were hesitant about these rumors until we found that about an earth turn ago or so, 50 Merrs fled and moved to land. We of course kept this under the radar, we didn't want anyone to panic or get any ideas. But it is a posibility, although it may be slim, that this land boy we are talking about could be one of the 50. We figured one of the 50 had to have powers in order to create the legs necessary to live on land and blend in seamlessly. We are going to send you three off by sundown but before that you can say your goodbyes and we can get you prepared for life on land"

Great. Not only did we have to deal with rogue Merrs, but we have to say our goodbyes and be ready by sundown. I just hope Angel makes me stay, but I know that I can't and that he wouldn't. As the Council starts to leave and us three make our way to our room, I think about how I will be able to tell Angel that I might not be seeing him again soon. Maybe we won't see eachother ever. I let a single tear escape my eyes as I mourn for the life that I had with my Keeper, who was my only friend and welcome in the new life that I am about to embark on.

Well I wasn't a big fan of this chapter but I did say once a week and I will keep that promise best I can. As you may have read on the first author's note, someone added this story to my library!!
