Five Months Ago

BEFORE THE FIRST GLANCE

I leaned meekly on the counter, staring absentmindedly at the large yellow 'M' sign standing tyrantly outside.

What had my life become? Gone were the days that Cartier and Louis Vuitton were my best friends. Gone were the days where my black-card could get me practicly anything. These where the days where I had to resort to dodgy-looking used items on eBay and I had to wear a stupid uniform and had to settle for minimum wage. A few bad investments and an even worse economy had left me jobless and homeless just a few months ago, so I should be grateful that I had a job that paid for a crappy apartment. But I just didn't foresee that a Harvard law student would end up working for a franchise that was the reason for the term "supersize-me."

I sighed heavily as a large, burly looking women stepped into the fast-food's clear-glass doors. A customer regular, I wondered why she always stood with her arms crossed and contemplated on what to eat, when both her and I knew what she wanted. Sometimes large, burly looking women make me wonder...

It was a slow day here at Mickey D's but that was expected. Students were studying and adults were working. But you wait, when the clock strikes three, they'd storm in like savages, demanding my attention. Months ago I was one these demanding savages. Sigh, karma's a real piece of work.

But this slow day at Mickey D’s could have possibly be the best day of my life. Because today was the day I met her.
