"I'm not gonna leave her in the hands of someone like him if I can help it. Now we already agreed so let her sleep." I muttered, watching her stir gently in her sleep.
With that, he then walked off out in the back, leaving me alone with our angel.
I woke up around a few hours later, still being cradled by Liu. When I looked up, I noticed he was sleeping this time, so I carefully maneuvered out of his arms as to not wake him up.
Jeff was asleep as well, almost right next to him. So of course I had to meddle. I gently rolled him over so they faced each other, and carefully wrapped one of Jeff's arms around Liu's torso.
Taking a mental picture of the scene before me, I cleaned up the rest of the house, marveling at my progress.
"Well good morning, sweet cheeks." God damnit.
I whipped around, noticing "Sully" standing in the doorway, leaning against it with a smug smirk on his face. "Oh give it a rest Sully, alright? Just go back and relax and let him sleep."
He sighed and smirked a little. "Oh come now, don't be like that." He started toward me, but I looked at him and sighed. "Look, I have a lot to do today, alright Sully? So just leave me be."
Sully paused, contemplating a few things, before nodding. "Alright...do you need help?" He asked, frowning at his own comment. He seemed uncomfortable about his own comment.
I nodded slowly, smiling a little. "Only if you want to help. I'm not gonna force you to do anything you don't want to." I gently traced one of the scars on his cheeks, before walking off to show him how to clean the kitchen from their mess the other day.
While he was busy doing that, I did some tidying up in the garage, noticing her old car with dust all over it. I could probably sell it if it still works.
After flipping on the light, I examined the condition of the 1987 Chevrolet c10, tracing my fingers over the hood. It just needed a bit of buff and shine to it.
I opened the door, dust coming out from the inside, causing me to cough. When the dust settled, I climbed into the leather drivers seat, running my fingers over the leather steering wheel.
She loved this car more than she loved me. She was all about the material things and didn't stop to realize things came and go.
Shaking the thought away, I flipped down the sun visor, the key plopping into my lap. Leave it to her to be completely obvious. My fingers went for the key, but I stopped.
Was this really the right thing to do? To sell the object she cared most for?
I pondered this thought for a moment, smiling sadly as I remembered her taking me out for a ride when she first got this car. When she cared even a little about her own daughter.
But of course, things were too good to be true back then. Without anymore hesitation, I stuck the key into the ignition, turning over the car.
Unfortunately for me, it didn't even make a sound. It has been sitting for 9 years, what else do you expect? I'll have to Replace the engine oil with new oil, change out the oil filter, remove the transmission fluid and somehow get a new one, install a new battery, and all of this will set me back a few grand.
This car wasn't worth that much time. Its in good condition, so I could probably sell it for ten thousand with the comdition, I'll just clean it.
Smiling, I get out of the car and grabbed some buckets and sponges, and filled them up with soap and water. I then started to get to work on washing the car, getting out wheel brushes when needed.
