(ep. 6 'Required Reading')
Kacey had heard many things about Beacon Hills. Most not very good. She heard that there were many sightings of 'creatures with glowing eyes' and 'many disappearing teenagers'. Kacey loved to get involved with crimes; mostly because her dad was on the police force. He was offered a new job in Beacon Hills that paid more than his last job, so he went ahead and took the opportunity.
Kacey wasn't happy at the fact that they had to move, because she worked pretty hard back at her old school to make friends. One pro about moving was it's only her freshman year, but the con was that school had already started. To make it worse, Kacey has social anxiety.
Kacey thought about all of these things as she brushed through her hair. She shook her head, getting rid of the thoughts. Her phone buzzed from her nightstand, lighting up the partially dark room. She set down her brush, and replaced it with her phone.
[6:32:02] Amiee: hey! good luck on ur first day.
[6:32:54] Kacey: thanks. i gtg, about to leave :'( ttyl?
[6:33:14] Amiee: totally. I've gotta run too. bye!
Kacey pressed the lock button on the side of the phone, and set it back down. She stood up from her bed, and made her way to the bathroom. She looked over her outfit one last time, and nodded in approval.
"Kace, come on!" Her dad shouted from the kitchen. She dashed into her room, and grabbed her bag along with her phone.
Kacey walked into the kitchen, and greeted her dad with a small wave.
"Lets go." Kacey followed her dad out the front door, closing it behind her. She walked around the car, and popped open the passenger door. As she buckled her seatbelt, she sighed. I'm going to embarrass myself in front of everyone. Kasey cleared her head as her dad drove.

"Bye, dad." Kacey said as she got out of the car. She tilted her head upward to get a good look at the school.
"I'm gonna get lost." She said under her breath. She saw a boy about her age jerk his head toward her her. Beside him was a dark skinned boy, and a gorgeous girl. She quickly looked down at her shoes, not liking the new attention. She tucked a strand of hair that fell in her face behind her ear, and started walking forward.
She made her way into the principles office, and stopped in front of the secretary's desk. The woman looked up at Kacey.
"May I help you?" She asked in a kind tone. Kacey nodded shyly.
"Today's my first day.." Her voice trailed off, but the lady got the hint.
"What's your name?"
"Kacey Roberts." She started typing on the keyboard in front of her. She stood up from her chair, and went into a room behind her. She returned with an orange paper, and handed it to Kacey. Kacey nodded in thanks, and walked out of the office.
Looking down at the piece of paper, Kacey made her way to her locker which was written at the top of it. She tried unlocking her locker several times, but still couldn't get it open. She felt a tap on the shoulder, and turned around to the dark skinned boy that was standing out in the front of the school a few minutes ago.
"Need some help with your locker?" He asked with a smile on his face. Kacey stared at him, her face pale, but she nodded slowly. "I'm Mason, what's your name?" Kacey's knees went weak, and her hands were shaking.
"K-Kacey," She stuttered. Mason noticed how nervous she was, so he gently took the orange paper from her hands. He quickly put in the combination, and he opened the locker.
"Voila!" He said happily. Kasey calmed down a bit, and smiled weakly. "Don't be so nervous, I'll help you through everything." This made Kasey less nervous.
"Thanks." She said softly.
"How about I go introduce you to my other friends?" He asked. Kasey's face paled again. "Kasey, it'll be okay. Come on." Mason told her with a small smile.
They walked over to Mason's locker, and Kasey kept fiddling with her necklace that her dad gave her.
"Liam, Hayden, this is Kasey." Kasey looked up and saw the boy from earlier. The girl next to him smiled at Kasey.
"Hi. I'm Hayden." She said sweetly. Kasey smiled at her. Liam continued to stare at Kasey, which made Kasey look back at the floor. Hayden sighed.
"Well I'm gonna go to the bathroom. See you two in class." Hayden said before walking off.
"What's your first class, Kasey?" Liam asked. Mason was still holding her schedule. Liam peeked around Mason's shoulder at her schedule.
"Ah, it says you have Yukimura." Mason said. "Thats with us." He gestures to Liam and himself.
"Do you think the teacher will make me introduce myself?" Kasey said, the thought making her nervous and filled with anxiety.
"Probably. Most teachers will." Mason told her. Just great, Kasey thought.
"We should probably get to class." Liam told the two. Kasey walked in between Liam and Mason as they made their way to class. The three walked into the classroom just as the bell rang.
"You three were almost late," Mr. Yukimura said to them. "It seems we have a new student?" Kasey nodded. "Why don't you tell the class a bit about yourself?"
What a great way to start off the day.

Kasey now sat on the bleachers next to Mason, which was sitting next to a guy named Brett, watching Hayden and Liam 'face-off'. Liam was practicing lacrosse and Hayden was kicking a soccer ball. First, Liam went to throw the ball, but missed. He glanced up toward the bleachers, and made eye contact with Kasey before looking back at Hayden. She kicked the soccer ball, and it sailed into the net with ease. Kasey was so into watching the two, she didn't hear Brett and Mason talking.
Liam and Hayden continued this until a boy ran onto the field asking if anyone had an inhaler. That was when Liam took off. Kasey stood up, and ran for Liam. She caught up to Liam, but stopped at a doorway that people were crowded at. Liam looked back at Kasey. She hesitated to go through the people, but she eventually went through.
Kasey watched as Liam tried to get his friend to use the inhaler. Liam said something to his friend, and he immediately used the inhaler. Kasey moved to stand by Liam.
When Liam's friend recovered from the asthma attack, he noticed Kasey.
"Who's this?" He asked Liam.
"This is Kasey," Kasey moved closer to Liam, feeling safe by his side. "She just moved here."
"I'm Scott," He looked toward Kasey. Scott watched as Kasey hid behind Liam. He couldn't ignore how fast her heart was beating.
Kasey's phone buzzed, making her jump a bit. She pulled her phone out of her pocket, and saw that her dad asked how school was going. She dismissed the text and put her phone back in her pocket.
It was at that moment when Kasey realized how bad she needed to pee.
"I'm gonna go to the restroom.. I'll be back though." She ducked out of the room, and made her way to the bathroom.
When Kasey got there, nobody was in there. It was dead silent. She quickly went into a stall and did her business. Halfway through peeing, she started hearing clicking noises. Click. Whir. Click. The sound of boots followed the noises. She finished, and put her ear against the stall door. Whir. Click. Then it all stopped. She slowly opened the door, and saw nothing.
She walked up to the sink, and washed her hands. She slowly looked up at the mirror, and saw three very tall people dressed in what looked like steampunk. She turned around, facing the people, and screamed. They came closer to her, and pulled out a needle. One of the people grabbed her to keep her still as the middle one injected the needle in her neck. She thrashed around, feeling dizzy. She got dizzier and dizzier until all she saw was black.
