Jax and I walked up the driveway of my home and before I could knock, my sister had the door open and her arms around my neck. She planted several kisses on my cheek.
"Where were you, Neve?" She asked hysterically and I said
"Calm down, Nad I was perfectly safe. I was at Tara's house" then I looked over at Jax as if to say 'don't say anything'.
"Who's that?" Nadine asked in reference to Jax and I said
"This is Jackson Teller"
"Jax" he said holding out his hand to my older sister.
"Hey," she said shaking his hand "I'm Nadine Laurence, its nice to meet you"
"You too, Nadine" Jax said smiling.
"So, how did you meet my sister?" Nadine asked and Jax said
"I met Neve at Tara's. Tara is a very good friend of mine" Nadine nodded as if to take in all the information we'd just given her.
"So why did you bring my sister home and not Tara?" Man my sister was good at asking questions.
"I brought Neve home because Tara had to go to work. Emergency of some sorts"
"Right" Nad said, it almost seemed like she didn't believe us.
"Can Jax stay?" I asked and after about ten minutes of careful consideration my sister agreed and we went inside.
I was wondering what would happen when Clay found Jax and I gone. I could bet he would flip his lid and then come looking for us. I just hoped he wouldn't find us. Later that night I dreamt of Tig holding me down and kissing me, I jolted up in bed with a gasp. I was shaking and sobbing.
"Hey, are you alright, darlin'?" Jax asked. I nodded.
"You sure?" He asked. I nodded again and curled into his embrace, I felt safer instantly. I was grateful to have someone like him. Then I fell asleep.
