"Dang Bree," Lacey says from behind me. "You saw this all the way from the other side?"

"What is this place?" Chase asks looking around in this small area.

All three of us have to duck down a little because it only stands five feet tall. I have to duck down the least because I'm the shortest. The floor is grass and the walls are the hills and so is the roof. We walk up to the door and now we can clearly see that there's a sign that says: DWARFS.

"Dwarfs? Aren't they part of the Fae?" I ask.

"Yeah but the Seelie Queen doesn't like the dwarfs so she made the dwarfs like the Forgotten," Lacey answers. The Seelie Queen is the Queen of the Fae.

"Oh. I didn't know that."

"Neither did I," Chase says.

"I only know because I'm half Pixie," Lacey says pulling her hair back to show off her ears. "See. That's why I have the ability to tell if people are lying and that's why I'm able to lie."

"Oh wow that's kinda cool," I say. "Should we knock?"

Chase knocks for me. "Better than staying out with demons chasing us."

The door opens ajar with a dwarf behind it. "How did you find us? Who are you?" A male voice asks.

The three of us look at each other not sure who's going to speak. Chase decides too. "Well um, my name is Chase and my friend, Bree, here," he points to me and I shyly wave. "Found your home because she saw like a light shining behind these vines."

"One moment," the dwarf says closing the door. A couple seconds later he comes back. "That's impossible, only a Pure Blood would have been able to see that," the drawf opens the door fully and behind him is dozen other dwarfs.

My heart quickens instantly at the mention of Pure Blood. "What does that mean? To be Pure Blooded?"

"You don't know much do you?" The dwarf asks. "Give me the needle," he turns around to say to another dwarf. The other dwarf hands it to him. "Give me your wrist short girl."

"Um," I hold out my wrist. "Can you-"

I get cut off by him stabbing the needle into my veins. He doesn't infect anything but takes some of my blood. "We'll be right back," he takes my blood then she's the door behind him.

"Ow!" I whisper shout while clutching my wrist. My head hurts even more now.

"Bree," Chase says while looking at my leg where it cut open. "I just noticed that your leggings are ripped and covered in blood, so is your hand. What happened?"

"Oh um I tripped and cut my leg on a rock and it opened up and started bleeding," I rub my hands together to get the dried blood off. "And then I kinda healed myself."

"No way! You can heal?" Lacey asks kind of shocked.

I nod. Chase's eyes widen a bit. "Then you must be pretty powerful," he says.

The same dwarf comes back and opens the door. "You three are aloud to come in, we ran a blood test on you and we decided you can be trusted."

"Thanks," I say as the three of us head in.

It's so warm in here my body instantly warms up. It smells of pumpkin pie and there's plants everywhere. It's overall dark in here (because there's no windows because it's under the hills) but it's lit by some torches and candles.

"Welcome to our home Bree Ritcher. My name is Carter Peck and I'm the leader of these dwarfs," the dwarf, Carter, says.

I spin around to face Carter. "How'd you know my last name?"
