Ryders p.o.v

"Hi Ryder! What can I get for you guys?" Lilly said, she's part of the pack and has had a crush on me since middle school. I'm not being vain or anything but a lot of the pack member have a thing for me. She has natural red hair with blue eyes and little freckles across her nose and cheeks. I turn to her with a smile and she returns the gesture.

"We'll take a meat lovers pizza please and I'll have a coke." I say while looking at Skylar who is staring at the table. I place my hand on his under the table and he looks up quickly. "What do you want to drink?"

Before he can say anything though Rhett speaks up and I glare at him for interrupting. "Can I have Dr Pepper!" He says excitedly and slams his hands on the table making Skylar jump.

"Of course you can sweetie!" Lilly coos and I roll my eyes at them before turning to a shy looking Skylar. "And you cutie over there. What would you like to drink?"

He blushes and sits back as to hide himself with my body a little before softly saying "Water please." Lilly hears anyway, she writes it all down before reading our order again and once we confirm its right she leaves with a smile. I chuckle and put my arm over Skylar's shoulders as he stares at Rhett who stares back with wide eyes.

"Why were you so shy?" I ask him and he looks up before averting his eyes to his hands that are clasped in his lap. I have to admit I'm a little jealous right now cause Lilly made him flustered but why? Does he think she's hot! No. I don't know! He just shrugs before changing the subject quickly. I'll bring that up later.

"Rhett can you tell us more about what mom is planning?" He asks and I look at the small boy as well. Rhett frowns and only looks at Skylar, the boys brown eyes blank.

"All I know is that she has a lot of shadow wolves with her and my dad and that they are coming this way. I managed to escape and run here. Mommy always said I was the fastest runner." He said and I can hear his foot tapping away under the table. He was nervous that much I could tell. I don't trust him, not yet anyway. Rhett comes out of nowhere to get away from his parents, only to search for a brother he knows nothing about and at the same time that he comes here an army of shadow wolves are on there way here too. The facts aren't adding up to me. Why would he run to the one place that Ocean is coming to? Does he think we can protect him? 

"What is a shadow wolf?" Skylar asks and I tune back into the conversation. He is leaning forward now and his curiosity has made him forget about his earlier bashfulness. 

"Um a shadow wolf is kinda like a werewolf except shadow wolves can change there shape and have no mate so instead of getting stronger through love they get stronger by being mean to other people. I think." Rhett replied with a tilt of his head. A shifter without a mate is not good. It means they were born without their other half and something like that can seriously harm a person. No mate means their wolf, mentally, is also weak but the human side is strong and cruel. I look over at Skylar and place my hand on his, squeezing lightly and feeling the sparks of our bond, I'm glad I found him. Skylar looked at me to and gave a small smile. His hair was still a mess from his time from the hospital but it was a good look on him. 

Then an idea came to mind.

"How did you know he was in the hospital?" I asked and Rhett flinched as if he was punched before he chuckled and responded. 

"We may not be true brothers but we still have blood relations so I can feel when something happens to Skylar because he's ready to take over. Mom can feel it more though." Rhett's small body squirmed and he glanced at us before he decided to speak again. "That's also why mom is coming... we both know your alive now Skylar because of him." His little hand pointed at me and I blanched.
