"Hey Annie!"

I snapped awake from staring at the coffee mug that I was rounding my fingertips gently at.My thoughts might have went too deep while we were in a conversation.

"I'm sorry,what were you saying?"

"I was wondering where your parents are..."

I tilted my head down intentionally for my hair to cover the downcast in my expression.I murmured out my words slowly as if I was losing my strength away with every word.

"My mom's gone."

Jade was obviously suddened at what she heard because she stiffened up from her seat and whispered under my bangs gently.

"I'm sorry about that,my mistake."

"No problem."

"Not those kind of shots...I meant alcohol!"

"After having breakfast and coffee!?"

"What's wrong with morning drinks?"

"Morning hangover and drowsiness!"

I abruptly spoke in a raised voice to shout out my concern and she immediately matched it with a teasing shriek.

"Oh come on,your acting like a chaste again!"

"Whatever Jadie!"

I rolled my eyes to her and sipped up the last of my coffee.I stood up from our table and shot her a look.

"Come on,we still have work...have you forgotten?"

She groaned and stood up lazily from her seat to what seemed like a decade for her to be able to settle away from the table and pack up her knapsack.Jadie was ever a natural poky...
