While I waited for Jadie,I scanned the cafe quickly and spotted two men staring at us over their newspapers who were tables away from us.I sharpened my look at them and they immediately went back to reading and quaffing on their huge mugs of coffee.
stupid maniacs
I should say that I was used to those kind of stares because I was honestly a fetching lady for many, even though I hated their attention.
Both men looked strange in my sight probably because of their thick coats and hunky arms
One man was wearing a blue and yellow varsity jacket along with blue jeans while the other wore a black jacket with matching black pants. Both men wore torn caps and looked like professional football players who were running away from media personels. It seemed to me that they had a bad intention on me and Jadie. It's the consequence of being attractive and I'm honestly getting pissed over it.I even remembered the day I wished that I wasn't a fine lady.
What a childhood
"You just told me that we must go."
To my surprise,Jadie was standing behind me with folded arms.I gestured my stare on the men to her and she was able to read my face immediately.
"I hate their stares."
"Aren't you gonna get used to it,for that beauty of a face?
I got a bit scunnered at what Jadie just said, but I was at the same time pissed with the two men because they were still gazing at us over their newspapers...I can see it from under their caps.
"Never.Let's go!"
I stormed out of the cafe and glanced back to asure that Jadie was following me.I stopped in front of the cafe's doorway and waited for her to keep up before I continued walking on the stone pavement to the bus stop.
As we walked midway,I glanced behind our backs once more only to see the two men we saw back in the cafe a moment ago.
"Shit,their following us!"
I whispered to Jadie with my head still glancing behind us.
"What,who!?"
"Those men back in the cafe."
All of a sudden,I decided to grab Jadie's hand and run to our feet.My instincts were telling me that they had something to do with me.I dragged her behind me and ignored her protests of me aching her feet until we reached the bus stop.
With our luck,a bus screeched to a halt in front of us and we immediately boarded it up and felt relieved when the hatch shut close behind us.
"Woah,why did you drag me!?"
"It's because they seem a bit too strange and I can't handle the thought of it."
We talked by the doorstep of the bus while we were catching our breaths with our backs bent and our hands placed on our knees.
"Your fare ladies?"
The conductor of the bus shot a discriminating look at us from inside the glass windows of the driver's place.
"Oh!"
"Sorry!"
We both grinned at the conductor as we dug in our pockets and dropped one pound in the coin slot for each of us.The man nodded and gestured for us to take our seats immediately.
We shuffled across the rows of seats and we immediately caught almost all of the passengers' attention. And what makes it more awkward was that most of them were looking at me.
We found a vacant seat at the back row and settled in with no time.I took a gaze over the passengers and some of them were still staring at me.I even spotted one lady clinging on to her guy while she was eyeing on me with great judgement and I can definitely read it through her expression. She looked away only when the guy started talking to her.
We both sat in silence for a few minutes and tried to figure out what just happened until Jadie finally broke the muteness between us.
"My heels are killing me!"
"Don't worry,we're almost at the caff."...
