"Hey, Riley. What's wrong?" Asks Farkle, entering through my window.
"Just thinking."
"About what?"
"Nothing interesting." He looks into my eyes and I immediately turn away. I can't help the way that I look at him and It's too obvious.
"I heard about you and Lucas."
"Ya."
"I'm sorry about that, Riley."
"I'm okay with it. I just wish that he hadn't dated me as a second choice."
"I don't think he understood it quiet yet. I've loved you and Maya equally my whole life. It's really weird that I can love you both the same but in such different ways."
"Cause I'm day and she's night?"
"No. Because she's my friend and- well ya, I guess."
"No no what were you going to say."
"I was going to say that you're my friend too and then I realized that what you said was right."
"Oh." I say, looking down at my hands, scolding myself for thinking that he almost said he loved me as more then a friend. I still have a bit of hope. I'm going to gamble with it. "So you've always said that your in love with us, but you love us as friends."
"Ya." He says, really quietly, looking away. "You're really handling this whole thing with Lucas well." He says after a minute of silence.
"Well, I know that he likes Maya."
"Do you like charlie, still?"
"He was kind of a distraction. I didn't want to admit something so I convinced myself that I did."
"That you loved Lucas."
"Why did you only notice that. I mean the other part is so obvious."
"What's the other part?"
"Nothing. There is none. I should probably go help my mom with dinner."
"See you tomorrow?"
"Yep."
