As a child, the easiest part of life was deciding what the future will be like. At the time, our reality was like a dream- no limits, no problems, and full of character. We knew we were going to experience life. But we didn't see, we couldn't. We were sure that we were gonna build a life- fall in love, have children, be our best. It was so easy to get caught up in the sound of "when I grow up". We didn't expect the world to change who we are or the person we wanted to be. As life goes on, it's hard to tell the most important story of ourselves. The way we because US. But it's important to know it- to understand it. It defines us. My story is more difficult. Growing up, I knew that my thoughts and action were different. That I was different from others. I never thought it special or out of this world, but I knew it was different. And so, my story begins when I did-with my family.
My mother was an amazing women. She spent her days at a shelter for animals. It wasn't considered a vets office, but she did care for animals. These were the animals that were abandoned or lost their way. She provided a home for every last animal her eyes met. She fed them, gave them shelter, and cared to their every need. She found them homes, good ones. She wouldn't release any animal into a person's care without her "gut feeling" that they would be great pet owners. I grew up looking and thinking exactly like her. She wanted to make the world better in every way possible. I always thought she was brilliant. She was always happy. When she walked into the room, it seemed her light and laughter would radiate off the walls and into your brain. No one could ever be unhappy when around her. Her presence was like the last shot in the dark. She was light the light when you couldn't see or find your way. She was so beautiful. She was and always will be my rock.
My father was the most handsome and funny guy I knew. He would be cracking a joke at the most serious times. He wasn't always the man I came to know and loved. Mom always said that he had it rough growing up. He lived in a big city in California. My father's parents were shot and killed in cold blood. So he spent his days without his parents with drugs, sex or alcohol. He went to jail for a while after that. I was told that this chapter, this most terrifying and unbearable chapter in his life is what led his way to mom. She was the mentor at his sobering program and took a great interest. Mom never went into extreme detail about my fathers past, or how she helped father cope, but she says he never fully recovered. As a child, I could never understand why his life fell apart and how mother was able to pick up every single piece. I also could never see my amazing father as the man my mother describe-sad, drunken, lonely and bitter. But that's the world, right? That's how this life is. It can end at anytime, leaving whoever is in its way, feeling helpless and alone.

Please consider that I am a first time writer and this is new territory for me. I've been bored with myself lately and thought I should try something new. I ask you to help. Lol. Any suggestions or opinions on how the story should go would be great. I'll give full credit. I honestly just wanna  write to entertain myself and hopefully others. Give me suggestions or theories and we will see how the story goes. We can write it together. And if you do notice any mistakes or places where I might condridict myself, please let me know so I can happily correct it.
