I am the new boy,
the teacher introduced me and told me to sit at the front

Next to another empty seat
And a girl called Dandelion Gourme

She is very organised
Very, very organised

I like literacy
And spelling

But we have maths first
Then art, both not my strong subjects

At recess everyone though I was weird
Only because I have an allergy to...
fur, nuts, milk, grass, dust, bed bugs, mites, sunflower oil, rice, wheat, gluten and ink

So I had some allergy free food, which is very organic,
But what do these people have against having healthy, organic food?

After recess we went out to play,
But I just went to the library

The rest of the day wasn't to good
Everyone thought I was weird
The next day it was the same
The next week it was the same

The next month it was a bit different
It was my birthday

I handed out invitations to everyone in our class
But I wouldn't expect anyone to come

I am simply too
WEIRD

and it's just because I have lots of allergies
And read in the library at recess
And I look weird
And my bike is handmade
And my dad works at a toilet paper factory
And...

But that's it.
Not that weird, honestly

At least it is only 2 days until
MY BIRTHDAY!

On my birthday I sat on my front porch
Waiting

And waiting
And waiting

When Dandelion Gourme turned up at my fence
And came and sat down next to me

I said "hello"
She said "hello" back
Then said "I'm sorry"
I didn't know what for

"For ignoring you while you sat alone all day long"
"That's fine, would you like to come inside" I answered

I opened the door
To a big "BOO!"

it was everyone
Everyone was here

I couldn't believe it
Everyone was here for my birthday

They were there for me
Even when I didn't know it

And it was the best day ever!
