-Calista's POV -
Iwalk through the drop ship back and forth while Raven tries tocontact the Ark. "This is Raven Reyes. Ark station, please, comein. I'm on the ground with the 100. The 100 are alive. Ark Station. Please, come in." But there's still no answer. "Are you sure youeven have the right frequency?", a girls asks her. "Yes, I amsure", she snaps back. I walk over to her and grab her shoulders."Raven, you can do that okay? Just keep trying", I calm her andshe nods and gets back to work. I walk over to my brother who'slaying on a table. Ican't lose him again!Suddenly another voice fills the drop ship and everyone quiets down."This is a restricted channel. Please identify yourself." My headsnaps up. "This is Raven Reyes. I'm from Mecha-Station. I'mtransmitting from the ground. The 100 are alive. Please, you need toget Dr. Abby Griffin! Dr. Abby Griffin!", Raven orders.
"Hangon, Raven. We're trying to boost your signal", Abby voice pipes up.Clarke's mom. After a moment of silence we can hear her again,"Raven? Are you there?" "Mom?", Clarke speaks up and makesher way over to the radio. "Mom, it's me." "Clarke?", Abbygasps. She sounds like she's choking back tears. "Mom, I need yourhelp", Clarke says and her eyes flicker over to Finn's body. "Oneof our people was stabbed by a grounder." "Clarke? This is thechancellor. Are you saying there are survivors on the ground?", Irecognize Jaha's voice. "Yes, the earth is survivable. We're notalone", Clarke says, "Mom, he's dying. The knife is still in hischest." "Clarke. Is my son with you?", Jaha asks andimmediately Clarke's face is filled with pure hurt. "Jaha? It'sCalista! I'm sorry. But.... Wells is dead", I answer for her andshe gives me grateful smile. I hear Jaha gasp as he takes in what Ijust said. "Abby, please! We need your help", I plead and I canhear her ask to be patched through to medical. "I'm going to talkyou girls through it, step by step", Abby's voice is heard again.Clarke walks over to Finn and stands opposite to me, "You ready?"I slowly nod as we suddenly are thrown slightly by the wind, shakingthe drop ship. "Girls, just find...", but the rest is impossiblefor us to hear because it's muffled. "What?", Clarke shouts. Iturn my head to the radio, "Raven! What's going on?" Her eyes arefrantic as her gaze shifts from me to the radio. "It's not theradio, it's the storm!" Octavia walks into the drop ship, waterdripping from her clothes, with two canisters in her hand. "Great",Clarke says as she grabs the canisters and hands me one. I inhaleit's scent, "Ugh! Monty's moonshine?" "Pretty sure no germcould survive it", Octavia grins at me. "The storm's gettingworse. Monroe, close the door!", Clarke commands. "But we stillhave people out there", Monroe argues. "Jasper and Monty arestill not back!", Octavia mentions with a worried expression."Neither is Bellamy!", I say and shake my head. "They will finda safe place to wait the storm out!", she simply says and Monroenods hesitantly. "One stitching needle", Raven says and placesthe needle in my hand. "Great, but we still need something to closethe wound", I remark trying to think of what we could use. "There'ssome wire on the second level. I used it for the tents", Octavia speaks up. "That will do. Can you grab it for us?", I ask her."Yeah", she nods her head as she makes her way over to theladder. "Stay away from the blue wire that run through the ceiling!I rigged it to the solar cells on the roof! That means they're hot!You got that?", Raven calls out to her. "Yeah, I got that!",she says and starts to climb up. "Hey. They're back", Monroepipes up and I turn to the door. "Bellamy!", Octavia shouts asBellamy enters the drop ship his clothes also drenched from the rain.I freeze when I see two of his followers carry someone in. Thegrounder. "What the hell have you done?", Octavia yells at him. This isn't gonna end well. Bellamy's dark eyes finally settle on me."It's time to get some answers", he says. "Oh, you meanrevenge!", she snaps back. "I mean 'intel'", he sneers with adisapproving look at her. "Get him upstairs!", he barks at theboys who immediately start to drag the grounder up the ladder. I walkover to him and stare at him in disbelief. "Bellamy! This is notwho are!", I say gently. "Girls? We're ready. Can you hear me?",Abby's voice fills the drop ship. Bellamy looks shocked in thedirection the voice came from. "Bellamy, she's right", Clarketries to back me up. "It is now", he looks at me as his eyessoften when suddenly Abby's voice fills the drop ship again. "Clarke?Cali? Are you there?" Bellamy clenches his jaw. "I'm sorry. Butwithout her Finn will die", I say with a shaking voice. All he saysis, "I know." He pulls me into a hug and whispers into my ear,"You can do that. You can save him. I know that." He leaves mestanding there and climbs up the ladder to the upper level. "Cali? Can you hear me?", Abby asks again. "Yeah, so the blade is at asharp upward angle. Between the sixth and seventh rib", I informher pacing up and down. "Okay, how deep?" "It's hard to say",Clarke tells her as she looks at the knife. "Maybe a couple ofinches", I add. "Okay, just don't remove the knife yet." I hearlight scuffling of feet behind me as I see Raven pacing back andforth as well. Something we always had in common. I pick up a bottleof Monty's moonshine and take a few big sips of it and pour some overmy hands to sterilize it and hand it to Raven to sterilize her handsas well. She takes a big sip like me and cleans her hands. "Cali!Do you see any fluid?", Abby's voice booms through the dropship."Wha...", Clarke starts but gets cut off because of the louddelinquents around. I put two fingers between my lips and whistle asloud as I can. The others cover their ears and look shocked at me. "DAMN IT! Clear the room! Everybody, get up to the second floor! NOW!GET YOUR ASSES UP THERE!", I yell at them and they all start tomove. I feel Finn's forehead and his temperature is up. "Abby? Hehas a fever. I know it can accompany trauma, but it's really high",I say in a worried tone which makes Raven rush back to his side. "Wejust need to focus on getting the knife out and then the temperatureshould go down. Well remembered about it accompanying trauma though",Abby praises me bringing a small smile to Clarke's face. "Okay, Ineed you to tell me if there's any fluid leaking from the wound",she asks again. "No", I say after checking the wound. Abbymutters something impossible for us to understand before she speaksup again, "That's good. That's actually really good. He got lucky."Raven smiles at him as her eyes water, "Hear that? You're lucky",she whispers to Finn. I notice the uncomfortable look on Clarke'sface. After preparing to take the knife out I inhale deeply. "Canyou do it? Or shall I do it?", Clarke asks as she hears my shakybreathing. "I have to do it. He's my brother." She gives me areassuring smile, "You've got this." "Okay. Cali! Firm grip onthe knife. You're gonna need to angle it upward and to the left. Veryslightly to the left as it exits the rib cage", Abby explains. "Howvery slightly?", I question as I look down at my brother and holdup my hands ready to pull out the knife. "3 mi...", the sound cutout. Raven rushes over to the radio. Of course, we're the lucky onesto be stuck in a storm when someone gains such an almost fatal wound."Wait! What was that? You dropped out." "Calista! 3millimeters. Got it?", Abby repeats. "Yeah. Okay, I got it. Hereit goes", I say as I lay my hands on the knife. "Steady hand,Cali. You've assisted me on trickier procedures than this. And oncethe knife is out the hard part is over", I hear Abby say calmly. The drop ship shakes again. "Alright. Extracting now", Iannounce. I grab the knife and pull very slightly when suddenlyFinn's eyes shoot open and he lets out a pained groan. "He's wakingup!", Raven cries. "Okay, Raven, I need you to calm down and helpme hold him down", Clarke instructs in a calm, but firm voice. Sheplaces her arms across his chest and hold his arm with her other handas does Raven on his stomach. "Finn, I'm gonna get that knife outof you, okay?", I tell him. "Good plan, princess", was all hemanages to say since he is still gasping in pain. "Finn, you can'tmove! You got it?" I say as he groans again and nods. "Okay, hereit goes." "Nice and slow, Calista!", Abby says. "Finn, do notmove!", I say as I begin pulling out the knife, "Almost got it.Hold still!" Suddenly the drop ship lurches from side to side andsends us all flying to the ground. Somehow I managed to hit myforehead again so the wound opened again. I groan in pain as I reachup at the blood streaming down my face. I shoot up and focus on Finnwho got thrown to the ground as well beside Raven in the middle ofsurgery. But the knife is out of his chest and he's still alive. He'svery lucky. I hear several people scream upstairs. "Clarke? Cali? What's happening? Girls? Can you hear us? Calista? Clarke?" "It'sout. She did it", Raven speaks up and I can hear Clarke sigh inrelief as she shares a small smile with Finn. That's not goingunnoticed by Raven nor me.
